cab54 tries again......
OK, so I ran/walked 2.12 (LOL) miles today. I'm counting every step. BTW--that's 5950 steps.
Did some step-ups (about a 14" slow lift for butt and thighs) on the steps and then sat on the porch and inhaled deeply.
A lot. That's what I get for quitting for awhile.
My mid-Sept. 54th birthday made me think about getting back to it. Health reasons and all. BUT, I wouldn't mind losing a bit of belly and butt, KWIM?
My eating is still basically Intuitive Eating (as per the book of that name). Kind of your basic emotional-eating help manual. Don't care to 'diet' anymore, just don't need to be a glutton.

I'm with you on the no dieting part. I figure if I 'm going to develop healthy habits that last a lifetime, they are going to have to NOT include measuring and counting every bean in each meal! That'll last about three weeks.

Thank you to my cheering squad! ALL of you!
madhen---I never even last 3 weeks!
Well went to 'town' today for errands, and whenever I jumped from the truck (I'm short) it felt like my legs were screaming! I think maybe I'm getting too old for running. So, I will keep walking. I've been doing that since I was 11 mos old so I guess I can hack that.
I have to start respecting my body's limits.

Pooh, ND lost.
BUT, I ran/walked 2 miles and did some pushups and squats.
Funny how when you ge used to NOT eating sweets, and then you eat them, you feel HORRIBLE.
Note to self---remember this when you wanna eat a ton of sweets.

Forgot to check in yesterday, but ran/walked 2-1/4 mi.
I'm going to have to learn to add a little protein to my meals, as I tried to run on just cereal and felt woozy toward the end.
Did some abdominal work, also.
We have to do some errands today, so I'm gonna wait and see what I do.

OK, was waiting to see how I'd do today, since I was pretty tired. Tried really hard to talk myself out of running. LOL!
BUT---I went 2 miles. Couldn't do a step more, but I challenged myself to run more of the time and I did a LOT more running.
Working on keeping increasing the amount of fruits and veggies--especially raw--that I can consume.

I am with you on the fruits/veggies. I love fruit, but there are only a few veggies I will eat raw AND without ranch dressing.
Carrots are about the only ones on the list. (Celery, if I can have some pb with it.) I love steamed veggies, even cold, so maybe I should steam some and bring them to work.
Sounds like you are making progress every day!!DH aka Mad Hen

Madhen, one thing about exercise is it makes those fruits and veggies go down easily, cause you are SOOOO hungry.
I ran/walked 2 miles again today. About half of each.
My food thought for the day is to try and not overdo at night.Listen to my hunger/fullness voice inside.

Took today off because I'm very behind on housework and stuff. Need to devote a day to this place. And a dog who needs bathed, so that's like aerobics right there!
DH is out working on the driveway, so he is out from underfoot and this is a good day to CLEAN!
