    Cool 7 A Day Challenge

    ~The season of fresh garden produce is over! Now that the cold weather is here I have to kick up some motivation to consume my fruits and veggies. Would anyone like to join me?
    Our goal is to consume at least 7 servings of the good stuff everyday. You may need more depending on your weight and activity level(see .gov site below for recommendations).

    Be sure to look at serving size, esp. in respect to juices!!

    Mahalo for this great inspiration!! I am in - and got my 7 in yesterday!!

    1 cup edamame
    1 large salad
    2 cups pea soup
    small salad

    ~I made it yesterday.

    1 cup of lima beans(2 servings)
    2 huge 6 ounce apples(3 servings)
    6 ounces stir-fried veggies(2 servings)

    Today is ugly so far, just 2 servings.~

    ~No surprisingly, I failed yesterday.

    1 cup lima beans (2 servings)
    1 small salad(1 serving)
    1/2 cup pasta sauce (1 serving)

    I have had no veggies or fruits for the last two days. A neighbor stopped by last night with some wonderful fresh veggies from upcountry, so I want to make a soup or casserole with them tonight.

    ~So yesterday I made it!

    Strawberry banana smoothie(2 servings)
    raw carrots, 3 ounces(1 serving)
    2 medium apples, 8 oz total(2 servings)
    small salad (1 serving)
    potato and onion side dish(1 serving)

    Today is so bad again. Just three servings and all of those at dinner. I think I'll make myself a dairy free smoothie and have carrots for my snack tonight.~

    I'm back to keep track!! Today I've had:

    1/2 papaya
    large Caesar salad
    broccoli

    So only 4/7 today, but better than the past few days.
    Tomorrow I am putting a veggie/chicken soup in the crockpot which will really up my amounts!!

    Started the day with 1/2 papaya.

    The veggie/chicken soup is good to go in the crockpot.

    Need to plan some more!!
