    TDN, this is why I posted that I did nothing, to motivate me. Don't focus on falling off the wagon but how many times you get back on.

    I had been riding my new recumbent bike for about 2 weeks. Then I went to visit my daughter and we checked out a new outlet mall. My back hurt so bad, I had to stop every 10 minutes or so and sit down. I don't know if the recumbent bike made it worse or what.

    Brief history about my back:
    I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 11. Wore a back brace for 5 years. Had spinal fusion surgery (almost 45 years ago). Now I have developed "flat back syndrome." It's a complication from the type of surgery that I had. They don't do it that way any more, but at the time it was the latest and greatest. It makes it very hard for me to stand up straight and puts strain on my back and hips.
    I've been having a hard time finding a good orthopedic doctor. The one I used in the past has retired. The first one I tried was a joke. The second one was strictly a surgeon. He sent me to physical therapy and prescribed an anti-inflammatory. Since he couldn't find anything to operate on, he said I didn't need to come back! After doing some research, I found one in my network with very impressive credentials. He even wrote a paper or article on flat-back syndrome.
    The last doctor is sending a referral and my x-rays to him. I hope I can get an appointment soon.
    I just need to know what exercises to do and which ones not to do to make my back stronger. And I need some medication that will actually relieve the pain when it gets really bad. I'm so far out of shape now that I can't even see it from here!

    I have back issues too although different from yours and I had a recumbent bike and it made my back hurt. I had thought it would be better for my back but it wasn't. I ended up going back to using a regular stationary bike.

    Doing well getting my points in ( steps in) but Today I am not walking to walk. still will just not in the mood to do anything.

    Did a good workout on the bike quite a sweat
    However the 30 minbike ride gave me maybe at most 1 10th of a point on my activity tracker.

    I was hoping for more.

    Oh well

    I've gotten so that I prefer to do most of my walking outside. I'm sure that will change when the hot Texas summer days return though.
