Lots of scenic videos w/ music online for exercising (usually labeled Treadmills scenic videos or similar) or nature/relaxation. I'll try this one "Flying over Scotlands/Highlands Isle of Skye" (drone) by Nature Relaxation Films on youtube tonight.

I've been trying to do cardio & abs everyday, sometimes twice a day. I may do a video to mix it up. After work, it helps me relax.

I am up to 8 pounds on my little dumbbells.
I think I want more than two weeks with these before moving up to the 10 pounds.
I am also doing some tooth whitening strips. There are ten days of treatments. I have done two so far. I had work done on a tooth near the front. It is a lot whiter than my real teeth. I am not expecting gleaming white teeth, but so far I am getting noticably lighter teeth.KathyB

I finished the tooth stripes. It is not movie star white teeth, but it is a pretty noticable difference. I am pleased with the results.
Still working out, but not seeing any visible difference there yet.
It has been raining a lot. I seem to have some aches and stiffness related to that. I am working on how I can mitigate that a little.KathyB

Doc wanted me to see her again in April but I wasn't up to it. I will go to walk-in lab and see how my cholesterol is doing before I make an appt. I see the specialist in June and know what we'll discuss. After doing research, I believe the new regimen that was suggested will be a costly one..From what I can tell, the new regimen would cost me at least 1/3 of my income, if not more. And that's just meds/supplies.

That sounds pretty rough.
Have you talked with your doctor about the money issue? The doctor might just be assuming you have good insurance that covers most of the costs. There might be some alternatives. Also asked if there are cheaper generics you can take.KathyB

I will discuss the $ issue further but it looks like the eqpt I need will be covered 50% by insurance. So, my out of pocket is $3000-$4000. Of course, if I want a newer model (and I would as its very discreet), that would run $10,000 out of pocket and insurance will not cover it. The meds and supplies are at least $2500/year if I use older eqpt that insurance covers and there are no generics for me. The new eqpt supplies are about $5,000 year that insurance won't cover.
As we know, insurance dictates what drugs and eqpt you will use, if you want them to pay for part of it.
The next issue is that the federal govt reimburses doctors if the patient complies and falls into their lab ranges. If the patient doesn't fall into the lab ranges and refuses all the meds needed to get them there, then the doctor can refuse to treat the patient. As we know, the labs are constantly changing the normal range, putting more people on drugs. Remember when normal blood pressure was 120/80? Well, that number is now considered pre-hypertensive. Which means, people have to go on meds..

2019 husband and I each lost 50 pounds and both got to our goal weights. We joined a gym in November and became official gym rats. We were also walking up to 5 miles a day on most days on top of it. Since we got locked down in early March our gym closed and I'm still working from home. I had also bought a lot of "comfort" snacks which we have blown through. The first month or so my weight actually went down another few pounds but now I'm 3 pounds over goal. I've lost all the muscle mass I built up. I've been trying to find my groove again but having a hard time. Gym is scheduled to re-open next weekend but with reduced hours that don't fit our schedules so they allowed me to cancel and refunded all our unused months. Although I am going to buy a summer pass and use the pool on the weekends.
We've had a crazy weekend with very little sleep so I'm not going to push it today and tomorrow I have a an appointment in the afternoon. Plus we had a freak cold front move in this weekend. Last week we were pushing 100 and this weekend lots of rain, crazy high winds past couple days and coming highs in the 50's. Extra blanket is back on the bed and heater is running again.
That said, tomorrow I plan on eating healthy and maybe by Tuesday I'll be caught up on my sleep and can get out there and get in a walk.

Best of luck to you. Can you fit some home gym equipment in? I was doing well in the spring because of all the yard work, being outside, did not snack. I quit work in January not knowing all this would happen. Fortunate for me not having to deal w/ all that work stress and stress-related snacking. Now it is getting hot and I will be staying inside. I find projects keep me busy and moving and not snacking. I have to strip wallpaper in 1 bathroom, probably start that next week.

MakeADollarHollar, that's terrific that you both lost so much and got healthy last year. I was not in great shape, but getting to the gym every week, and then everything shut down. Gained a few pounds like everyone else. And yes, stress eating too. Hope you can get moving again soon.
DH is working from home now and he is feeling it, too. We were going for walks until it got hot. Now he wants to sign up at the local fitness center I use. Since his job changed it would be silly to drive across town to the one near his old office. I'm going tomorrow to renew my membership and upgrade to the family plan. They have limited hours and sign-ups for the classes, but he just wants to use the cardio equipment first thing in the morning so it shouldn't be a problem.Stop trying to organize all of your family’s crap. If organization worked for you, you’d have rocked it by now. It’s time to ditch stuff and de-crapify your world.
If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

DH didn't do much activity during the shut-down. Just push-ups and walked with me when the weather was ok. I have the tread and bike and DS2 would use the tread. He doesn't want to go to the gym, though, like he used to. I wear my mask if there's a crowd but sometimes, hardly anyone is there, so I don't.

I have been taking various online training through work. While some is very specific to what my office does, other is more general.
In one of the training classes there was some interesting things on seeking validation. I realized that I have a habit of seeking validation. For example I will take to people and say "I am thinking of getting this" or "I am thinking of doing this". Then I will ask for their opinions. But if I am honest with myself I am not looking for advice, I am looking for validation.
I have already decided in my mind. I am just want someone to tell me it is a good idea. And of course I get annoyed or defensive if someone says it is not a good idea. 🤪 Which is pretty unfair of me since I was asking for their opinion.
I guess there are some instances where I have decided against something and I want validation for that. I am just a difficult person after all.
Especially when you combine this with my tastes being a little different. Like maybe I want people to say stuff I like is not weird. Instead of just owning it and saying I really don't care if other people think it is weird.
One recent example, I ordered some cola flavoring. (Not cola syrup, just flavor drops.) So I can have cola flavored uncarbonated drinks. I also want to avoid some of the acid normally put in cola. I realize it is a bit odd. But I decided to ask other people's opinion for some reason. Of course they thought it was odd. But I bought some anyway. And then I thought why did I even ask?KathyB

Kathy- At least people have opinions when you ask. I ask and get a I don't know or it's whatever you think answer....Which is more frustrating? Something you don't want to hear or no opinion? aahh! Either way, I guess asking is futile. Just make the decision and go with it, I say.....

Got my first swim of the year in today in the outdoor pool. Plan was to buy a 1 day pass and see how things went with the crowds/kids and distancing thing (last year it was literally people on top of people if I didn't get there early enough). Dug through my swim bag and found the punch card I bought last summer before we officially joined the center with one punch left but wasn't sure if they'd let me use it or not. They did so I saved a few bucks. Limit of 100 people so it was no where near as packed as last summer.
Got in a full 20 minute swim. Nothing huge but didn't want to over do it the first time. Sure did feel good though to get wet and use some muscles.
Decided the way they are running things now was doable so I bought another punch card for the summer on my way out. Plan on going again tomorrow morning for another quick swim. Hopefully by the end of summer I'll have at least a little toning back in my arms and legs.

I've been working on the wallpaper removal. Lots of arm & shoulder & core work, also standing for hours instead of sitting around. Will have to paint after that so more of the same I guess. Need to re-wash some windows after the decks were power-washed and stained. Water went everywhere.
