Bread Turkey Stuffing
Bread Turkey Stuffing
Recipe DescriptionThis is, by far, the best turkey stuffing I've ever had. I actually add extras to it like sliced mushrooms and it really is delicious!Preparation Steps:Chop the mushrooms, onions and celery (can omit mushrooms if allergic)Level of Difficulty:
Heat the broth (or make your own using bouillon and boiling water)
Clean and prepare the turkey
Grease a separate pan if you have too much to fit into the turkeyEasyTime Needed:15 minutesIngredients:* 8 to 10 cups - Bread CubesServes:Directions:
* ½ cup - Butter
* 1 cup - Onion (chopped)
* ½ cup - Celery with Leaves (chopped)
* 1 teaspoon - Salt
* ¼ teaspoon - Pepper
* 2 teaspoons - Poultry Seasoning (or mixture of Sage, Savory, Thyme and Marjoram too)
* Hot Broth1 - Melt butter in a frying pan.
2 - Cook onion and celery in the butter until they are softened. Add mushrooms and cook, if desired.
3 - Add them to the breadcrumbs and seasonings.
4 - For moist dressing, mix the stuffing well with the hot broth.
5 - Stuff the turkey with this bread stuffing and roast it.
* The amount of stuffing should be enough for an 8 to 10 pound turkey. If there's excess turkey, grease a glass pan and put the extra in the pan, cover with foil and bake it in the oven with the turkey. The pan stuffing will be done when the top is golden brown.
