Default Clean Out Your Tupperware/Plasticware Today!

    Hi all!

I think today would be the perfect day to go through your plasticware cabinet. Empty everything out onto the floor or the counter.

-Make sure you have matching lids for every container.
    -Make sure you use everything.
-Toss anything that doesn't match up or isn't used.

Then, clean out the inside of the cabinet with a damp paper towel and reload with everything organized according to size or use or whatever works best for you.

Tah-dah! Clean, organized cabinet which will be much easier to use the next time you need to put away some leftovers!

WOW!! Look at all that space now!

Can I add one change in your list?
Don't throw away your old stuff freecycle it or donate it.

I sent off a grocery bag of matched pieces and odd lots.

Don't throw away Tupperware! If it's broken you can get a warrantee replacement or credit. Same goes for missing pieces, you can order lids/replacemnets most of the time.

I guess I was thinking of my own broken stuff. It gets used so hard around here, that by the time I get rid of it, it's usually because it actually is broken or cracked.

Yes, if it is in good condition and you are getting rid of it, then of course you should freecycle or donate. And yes, if it's actual Tupperware...call the company.

So funny - I did exactly this when I got up today, before I even got online. I think it had something to do with the avalanche of Tupperware that fell on my head when I opened the cupboard last night!

I also relocated the Tupperware to a lower shelf, since it is DD7's job to put it away. Now she won't have to stand on a chair to put it away anymore. Safer and probably a lot less likely to fall on me!

I SO need to do this--- thanks for the inspiration. I'll empty out the drawer and sort through it while cooking supper in just a few minutes.

P.S. Surely I'm not the only one who has mostly store-brand containers and butter tubs? I own exactly three pieces of real Tupperware.

i did this about a month ago and put all the lids in an old rectangle shaped plastic container; all the containers are stacked inside another neatly and any of the double or tri sided conatiners i used to take to work are stacked together on another shelf...much less junk and broken stuff...i had lids with no containers and containers with no lids...sheesh! but a much cleaner cabinet now!
