    Default Week-end Clean-a-thon

I am going to be doing major cleaning/purging between now and Christmas. I work alot of hours during the week so weekend is when I clean.
I am having a clean-a-thon this weekend and next and need some accountability and I don't want to hijack anyones thread.
So I am going to clean all day today and tomorrow and come back and post what I have done as I go along to keep me going this weekend and I will do the same next weekend. Maybe I am goofy but this is something that works for me.
If it is something that works for you as well please join me if not then you are welcome to watch my progress.
    Ready Set GO!!!!!!

I'll jump in for a mini-clean-a-thon. I want to get both bathrooms spotless AND decorated for Christmas and get the railing lights put up before Monday!

I wish I could jump in and just might but there isn't much for me to clean since everything is packed in boxes and stuff.

I know my limitations... this house will NEVER be cleaned in a weekend... but... I am up for a purging session. I will give myself enough time to build up steam... so at noon, I will walk in to my bedroom and not come out until I have sorted through my clothes and gotten rid of no less than 6 bags of clothes.

Okay, it is a little after 8:00a here, and I've started by de-cluttering the downstairs bath. It has become my interim pantry for Christmas cooking supplies.

I need to join in too! I have junk piled everywhere! Here's what I've done so far this morning:
Cleared kitchen table (it had Christmas gifts and other junk on it)
    Filled and ran dishwasher
General pick up from living room (lots of papers and things that belonged elsewhere)

Here's what I need to do:
Take plastic and newspaper recycling to the store.
    Empty Dishwasher once clean
Throw away dried plant (it was one of those made to dry plants-but it is shedding little leaves and stuff all over)
Do something about dying houseplants (water, throw out, etc)
Fold and put away clean clothes

Whew! That's a lot to do, but it will be done!

I'm having a party tonight, (small party) so I have been cleaning for most of the day. I've:

vacuumed the living room and kitchen
wet swiffered the living room and kitchen
dusted the living room, foyer, and china cabinet
cleaned the counters, emptied and refilled the dishwasher
    swept out the foyer
    cleaned the guest bathroom

    I think I'm company ready!

    2nd check in
You all were starting out at a much better place than I was as I was sick for a couple of weeks but the family kept messing up the house more and more with no one cleaning.
I have done 6 loads of laundry (so far) as my son cleaned out I think every item of clothes that he owned some of them I know no long fit so they will be going in a bag to the thrift store.
I have cleaned out the Frig and microwave and cleaned the oven.
What I plan on doing next is organizing and straightening out the pantry/ stockpile and it is going to take a while.

Got the bathrooms de-cluttered, but not totally shiny and clean. And the snow on Sunday discouraged me from putting up lights! Brr!!!!
