Vermicomposter cleaned out. Gave the worms an early holiday present by "fluffing" up their bed a bit. Collected about eight pounds of worm castings!!

Finches room is done!! Even took some time to re-pot the cacti I have down there.

I decided the dogs' room is fine for now. I just changed their bedding on Friday, so it is still good.

Off to slice up that hunk of soon-to-be jerky, and then my day's challenges are complete!

Couldn't handle looking at the frozen hunk of meat last night, so have to do that today.

Today's other tasks: get the livingroom/diningroom cleaned and decorated for Christmas. Clean the downstairs bathroom.

If it is NOT raining all day, put up the outside rail lights.

Get to the store and get Christmas dinner provisions. (Which means also sitting down and figuring out what what I NEED for Christmas dinner!)

    Put together cookie trays.

Get to the post office and keep my fingers crossed that some of those gifts I ordered (only one of which has shown up) have arrived!!

Good luck with the post office! I have a long list of things to do today....

    - get FIL breakfast made
    - clean two bathrooms
    - dust and vacumm
    - hit Walmart (which I am dreading because I am sure it will be busy)
    - get haircut
    - keep an eye on weather to see if it is safe travelling tomorrow to Canada to pick up my Mom
    - check car over before trip
    - gas up car
    - FIL nurse and physical therapist coming today
    - pay some bills (ugh)

and I am sure there is more I have forgotten about!

I am glad you got your presents at the post office madhen! That's great.

I had a very eventful day.....

    -cleaned two bathrooms
-dealt with nurse and physical therapist
-did breakfast and lunch for FIL
-went to FIL's to get more clothes for him
-went to Walmart.....BUT..... I was hit by a car! Yes, me, not my car, me!!! I was pushing my full cart to my car in the parking lot and a car ran into me!!! I have a very sore hip and thigh and the bugger didn't even notice and drove off! A Walmart worker was there and saw the whole thing, the cops were called and will follow up on it. Walmart was soooo busy. My car was parked at the end of the parking lot (at least a 1/4 mile away from the store) and my cart was full and stuff was falling off, I think that is why the guy didn't see me. I cried all the way to my car and was so shaky I didn't think I was going to be able to drive but I made it home okay. NEVER again will I go to Walmart when it is close to Christmas!!!!
-weather doesn't look good for tomorrow...might have to pick up my mom on Wednesday but we will see.
-didn't get my haircut as there was a 2 hour wait so I might just cut it myself (save some money too)

Thanks madhen, you are sweet! Yes, I am okay. I am glad I wasn't a child though as I am sure the child would have died. Forgotten now and will take a pill tonight to make sure there is no pain tomorrow.

Oh no Debbie-cat, glad to hear you're okay. I'm sure you're going to be sore tomorrow though. I too hope the cops catch the guy - gheez you'd have thought he would have noticed.

Thanks for the concern homesteadmamma! You girls are awesome! I don't care about bruises, I just hope it didn't affect my back. I have had back surgery twice and the doc said I would be in a wheelchair within and year ..... I am fighting it tooth and nail!

How could anyone NOT know they hit someone?? People just amaze me. I am glad that you weren't hurt any worse. Hopefully you won't be too sore tomorrow.

Well, about the only other thing I got done on my list was to get to the store! I did actually end up hauling the tree upstairs and getting almost all my presents wrapped. Tomorrow is my last day to prepare, so time to buckle down and "get er done" in regards to Christmas-ing up the house!!
