Was going to run and pick up my Mom in Canada today but the roads don't look great. We got about 4 inches overnight and it is still snowing so I might have to run tomorrow (which I am not looking forward to).

I still have to get the leaves for the dining table, more chairs, find the burnt out light on the tree (one string stopped working!!, vaccum, clean litter box, dig out extra pillows and blankets for guests (wash blankets)...I know, I should have done this earlier, polish my silver, and shovel .

I better get my butt in gear.

Today's goal is to finish decorating the house. That means getting the tree and lights up.

Also have to run out and buy wine and sparkling cider for tomorrow's dinner.

If I have time, clean off the deck (probably won't have time) and get outside lights strung!

If I have even more time, make a batch of dog cookies, so the pups will have something in their stockings on Christmas Day.

Well, silver done, litter box done, blankets washed...still need to find pillows, shovelled, found extra leaves for the table and chairs, can't find the burnt out light bulb....I am so bummed, will vaccum after dinner. All in all did okay I guess.

Well, it is technically "tomorrow," but I did get all but the last thing done!! Amazing how much energy you can find when you drink a mega-cup of really strong coffee at about 6:00 pm!! (It is now midnight, and I'm nowhere near tired.)

Today is the big day for me. I'm going to finish tidying up the kitchen, and then I'm going to try to get some sleep, as my family will probably be here in about twelve hours.

Today's task is to get all the Christmas dishes washed (only got about half done last night) and put away!!

It is miserably cold, wet, and windy outside, so other than braving the elements to go feed the critters, I think it will be a good indoor project day!

Got all the dishes washed, but haven't put them away yet. I want to find a new place to put them, as their previous storage location was in the dogs' room, and even though I had them covered, they got really dusty, requiring me to wash them all before and after using them. I have some space in the house still, so I want to move the plates and silverware, at least, into that area. Tomorrow....

Today's challenge is to get clean laundry all sorted and put away.

I also would like to try to make some pot pies for OAMC. I'll have to check my freezer to see if I have any cooked turkey sitting around.

Put the 3rd coat of paint on bathroom wainscotting. Still plenty of painting left to do though.

It sure is looking fresh and clean in there so I am modivated to continue on.

Tomorrow dh will rent the wet saw so we can finish the floors.

Today I woke up with a really bad head cold so I am enjoying a hot cup of coffee right now and figuring out what I can do that won't require too much energy so I can get better faster.

    - I am definitely going to take time today to cuddle under a blanket and read my December Book (I found it under my bed)

    - laundry needs to be folded and put away

I haven't figured anything else out yet....

Ooh, sorry about the head cold. That sucks. Good excuse to stay in bed and read, though!

Debbie-cat I've got a cold too and I'm sick of it! My two youngest gave it to me just before Christmas.

Madhen what kind of finches do you have? I have 20 something zebra finches. I've sold a few, but have kept the others. I have a couple with three eggs at the moment, but for some reason they haven't been very prolific. The male was with another female until she died, but this female isn't doing as good a job reproducing. I have put all of the others in one huge cage to discourage as much breeding as they were doing. I thought I wanted to breed them and sell them, but have changed my mind. Sorry, didn't mean to highjack...

I have Gouldians, owl, society, and zebra. The only ones I really want to breed are the Gouldians, but right now, I'm building my stock, so I'm purchasing more than I'm raising. I did have three babies, one last year, and two this year. Pics are in my album.
