I'm so in on this one. We don't exchange gifts with my husband's side of the family but it would be nice to give them a homemade gift. Nothing too large just something nice. I'll count everyone and add how many homemade gifts I need to make up!

I need to go to my Christmas journal and make an accurate count of the number of gifts I want to make and give for 2009. Thank goodness that I have kept a detailed list over the years.

DD and I will be going through our rental space, so I should be able to pick out a lot of gifts from the boxes - stuff from our store and wholesale business.

Realistically we know that we won't be able to get rid of the rental space immediately, but we are planning on moving to a smaller space. Not bad since at one time we had 2 large and 1 medium units - what a waste. Live and learn - never happen again.

Glad I found you. During Christmas break I made a lot of scrubbers out of nylon net and dishcloths out of cotton yarn. Need to do counts to make sure I know what I have.

Does anyone know where to get dish towel fabric - think it was once called flour sacking?

    Glad to meet you all!!
Hi Mauimagic, here is where I buy my dishcloths. They are good quality and good prices.

I want to join all you wonderful, creative people. I have already save $923 for my Christmas fund. My goal is $1200. I am really excited about this challenge.

I am going to make 10 grocery bags for my mom and add a $25 gift card for the grocery store she uses.

For my dad, i am going to make a gift basket with golfing stuff.

For my 1st son, I am going to make a couple pairs of shorts.

For my 2nd son, I am going to make a recipe book of all my favorite recipes. He loves to cook and is always calling me to get one recipe or another.

My 3rd son is getting shorts as well.

my 4th son is getting an ipod christmas. Free ipod, free music downloads, free headphones, free skins,

my 5th son is probably getting toys, He is only 1.

The boys are also getting $50 savings bonds.

I am going to make calanders for both of my grandmothers.

My niece and nephews are getting hand knit hats/scarves in their fav colors and gift cards for Barnes & Nobels that i got for free.

No ideas on what to do/get for my DH

Hmmm...I will probably have enough in my Christmas fund for this year and next. lol

Just now looked at this thread. I haven`t read everyone`s ideas yet, but so far there are many, many inspirational ideas.

So far, all I can come up with is food gifts. One item will be some Fire and Ice Pickles that we make each year to give to my dh`s coworkers.

I will add more to this thread later when I decide what to do.

Christmas 2008 I made rice filled microwave heating pads for my exchange at work and 1 for each of my kids since no one lives at home any more. Plus a few for others on my list.

This year it's going to be quillows for many people. One started, many to go.

That is a great idea dean! I might make a few of those rice filled heating pads for a few on my list this year! I knew about them but spaced them out! Thanks for the reminder.
