Gave my first unexpected kindness on Tuesday night. I have a friend who I made a Christmas wreath for several years ago...long story short, her DH died, lost her house, and when moving someone helped themselves to her wreath..since we draw names at work she always hoped that I would get her name..I never did. This year we cut out gift giving completely and played dirty Santa..so she knew she wouldn't be getting a wreath..
I surprised her with a wreath...Her tears made my heart smile...
It is so cool to be kind. I want to do this one. I want to challenge myself to do random act of kindness.
Just a quick reminder to be kind to someone today.
I'd like to do this. Twice a month is probably enough for right now, with everything else I'm taking on.
We dropped off cookies at the fire station on Christmas day. It felt good.
GREAT idea! I LOVE this "challenge"! Count me in!
Count me in. I'll start Jan. I host a challenge like this on Twitter right now. Giving people ideas daily on kindness.
Today was Mon. I'm trying to do something at the beginning of each week. A lady who has a wonderful blog on the net found a creche without the baby Jesus. I have a small set with baby Jesus, all the animals, even the shepherds. I don't use it because I have a larger set I use. I e-mailed her, got her address and will be sending her the set. She was thrilled.
Don't forget to be kind to someone today. Remember it doesn't have to be something you send. A warm smile, a listening ear, opening a door for someone, a thank you note - just some suggestions in being kind.
That was so sweet of you homesteadmamma! You are a very kind and generous person!:hugz:
I think I need to do this challenge. I've received so much encouragement from people over the years. It's time to pay back a bit.
Look what happens when you plant a "seed". Because of your post many will receive a random act of kindness. Thanks for reminding us to think beyond ourselves!! I'm in... for one a week at least!!!
I did a small act of kindness and helped a friend her at the village. It thrilled her which made my day.
New goal, do something kindthoughtful to someone everyday with or without their knowledge.
I was at a Christian bookstore and picked up some little cards with encouragement sayings on them. I'll be finding ways to get these to people I know throughout the year.
Gave up my quarter in grocery cart so a woman wouldn't have to fumble to find one in the cold. I know that it was frugal, but it made me feel great and her surprise at the small kindness was super. Let numerous cars in while driving. Found 1/2 dozen roses with baby's breath for $1.00. Yes only $1.00. They were perfect. Don't know why Aldi's marked them down to this, great find and girl's surprised look was super. Bought 3 and surprised my BF and 2 daughters. Shhhh-h they don't need to know they were only a dollar each.
