    You're doing really well!!

We have money taken out of dh's paycheck every 2 weeks and it is automatically deposited into a 2nd savings account. We use that money for Christmas and it really has saved us over the last couple of years!! We are doing it again this year, bumping $$$ up a little to save a little more!

Since we stopped at the grocery store this afternoon I checked out my GC to see if it is indeed active. It is, but what is really confusing is a different GC that only had $1.something showed it had $10. When the cashier used it, it deducted the $1.somthing I knew it had. I really hope that the $10 card is active for sure. (Maybe the only way to really know is to use it. Oh well!) I'm going to tuck the $10 Loblaws GC and $2 in change away in my Christmas 2009 envelope. It's the first money I'm putting in it!

I'm mailing in a rebate form for the Game of Trouble. I'll get back $2.50, and I plan to add it to the Christmas 2009 envelope.

While driving to church this morning I drove by the gas bar and found a 30 cent Superbucks receipt. It was there since 8:05 yesterday evening and had been waiting for me to pick it up all night!

Now that is just too cool. Slow and steady wins the race. Your total is creeping up there.

Over the last few weeks I've done my best to drive by the gas bar and check for receipts that people left. Right now the Superbucks total is $7.70, and $4.12 of that money is "found" money. Yay! Only a little over $2 to go before another gift card!

BTW, I'm trying to sell a kid's toy for $20 on a free advertising site. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get at least $15, and $10 of that money will go into the Christmas 2009 envelope and the other $5 will be mine to spend as I want to.

To date I've saved $30 in gift cards and $17.95 in cash towards Christmas 2009. If I keep this up at this rate I'll have about $530 by November.

DH gave me another $20 in Gift Cards from our M/C's points. I'm going to put one of the two $10's in the Christmas 2009 envelope.

I usually save all my change throughout the year for Christmas, but this year we are using it for our Las Vegas trip in October. Instead I am setting up another ING account for auto withdrawal - along with one for long term travel and EF. May have to make some adjustments along the way, but this is a solid start for me!!
