This is a great challenge! I'm in...for January, my first project is to reorganize my under-the-stairs pantry and put a few new shelves in there.

Another one of madhen's great ideas for challenges!!!

I am in!! I have a million things to do this summer but while we have snow on the ground I do have a few things to do inside as well so for January it will be organizing my front closet and FIL walk-in closet (alot of our stuff is still in there and I want him to have more space for himself).

I am going to get a notebook though and write my challenges down for 2009 as there is a million of them!!!!...lol

Good idea writing all your challenges down. I have been trying to keep track of them in my sig line, but there are a few I haven't added, and I think you only get so many lines, which I would probably exceed!

Count me in! I will work on our office space. It is overflowing with paperwork that needs taken care of as well as pictures that need organized. I already have February in mind as well. Thanks for the challenge!

Great challenge, madhen! Thanks for posting it. I had already been thinking something similar to this. We have plans to redo both of my DDs rooms and bathrooms. And I have so many other projects that need to be done. Some have been started and never finished and others just haven't been started at all. I am going to start a list!

Okay I decided on the bathrooms first. One is just a half bath.

The list of what needs doing in them is a mile long. Some I can do myself and I already have the tools and supplies to do them.

Some I need my DH for.

    Some I need $$$ for.

So I am just going to do the best I can using what I have to work with in the time alloted dh willing!! LOL

Paint the wood waincotting..is that right, the wood that runs from floor to shoulder high up the walls??
Paint the doors and all the trim
    Paint the cabinets
All this is done is Muslin enamel and I have the paint and supplies already

Scrub everything, clean out cabinets and drawer.

Pull up the vynal floor in Dhs half bath(mine is up already and waiting for tile)

Take down wall paper in both bathrooms--sigh, at least they are small rooms

Paint walls in both bathrooms( have paint for my bath, will ask dh about color for his)

Take popcorn ceilings down and redo smooth in both bathrooms.

    Paint ceilings

Spray frost on window to get rid of musty curtain in shower--WHY would anyone put a window in a SHOWER???

Take down glass shower doors and put up new or use shower curtain and rod.

Take down old shower tiles and put up new backer board and tiles. It is old and yuckola.

Buy 6 new pewter knobs to match towel rods, tp holder etc

New lights on both baths--1980 in there now

2 sink faucets/1 tub faucet, shower head set

    3 new door knobs

3 new ceramic switch plates and plug covers

Finish with tiling the floor (we are currently in the hall so baths are next.

Well I am now exhausted and I will be using my Lowes coupon!

Oh I love this one. I am in.....
I want to do 2 projects a month, and have them be low cost where I recycle, reuse, or restore to do this. I need to organize and I find that its easy to "need" stuff to do all these things with. SO I am hoping to be able to do two projects a month that cost nothing but my own work to be able to do them.

    So for Jan projects I will be doing;
Make storage out of things I have (like boxes) to be able to organize my crafts.
Totally clean and organize my bedroom!
    Costs: 0

Just as a warm-up, I'm clearing out my walk-in closet and one of my "hidden" storage areas. I am taking the week off, so I may as well get some use out of all that free time!!

I am in on this one. It will be difficult as I will be traveling the majority of the time for business. But it will at least keep me motivated when I am at home. I want my projects to be related to household tasks that I keep putting off. Also tasks should cost little to no cash to complete.

January will be to clean out my closet in the bedroom, organizing my clothing. This means getting rid of items that do not fit or that I never wear. It also included figuring out how many work outfits I can make from what I have. Shoes that either are worn or not comfortable are also going to have to go. Declutter with a ruthless attitude.

I'm in!! I actually got it started early. I hated my dining room. It was just so 'blah'. It was definitely my least favorite room in the house.

Well yesterday a friend came over with some paint leftover from a project at a different friends house and we painted an accent wall in my dining room chocolate brown. Now that I have everything hung back up, the room seems much less blah. I still have a few other things I want to do in that room. I'm getting there!

Best part is it was very frugal! One can of paint has been used between three homes and we all helped each other paint!

gj Janbee on finances, I said before I saw this challenge that I need to get rid of (throwing away or donating) 1 thing a day. I need to start small to get it done. I also have a zillion crafts 1/2 done that need to be finished. Organization is a must for me!!!!
