Well I have got all of Wesley's toys organized and it seems much less overwhelming than it did before.

The before situation was something like this:
Living Room--three decorative baskets filled with toys, books, etc.
Dining Room--Wesley's bicycle, ride on truck, tonka truck, lighting mcqueen chair
Office--table with geotrax train, also had basket of blocks, potato heads, drum set, doctor kit on top. 4 bins were on the bottom shelf with tons of toys in them, puzzles under the table.
Wesley's room--books, toy box, toy organizer shelf all stuffed.
    Then all the Christmas toys

    Now this is the situation:
Living Room-No toys, other than what bubba's playing with.
Dining Room- big wheel, pirate ship, lighting mcqueen chair, 1 wicker basket with lid full of toys. Much nicer!!
Office-Table only has the train on top, has the four bins of toys underneath on the shelf, small wicker basket of coloring books
Wesley's Room-all toys in toy box, toy organizer, some big items were place in closet.

All in all, the result is 100 times better!! Plus, I have a ton of toys to take to Goodwill that bubba hasn't played with in months.

I'm changing mine too. My sewing room is almost ready for painting, just some touch up sanding to do. After decluttering it yesterday and getting it organized I've decided to get that room done rather than dd's bedroom.

    I need to:
    -get some sandpaper
    -purchase some primer
    -purchase some paint
    -purchase new flooring

I'm determined to get this small room done.

I went out and bought 20 hangers for the kids closet. I realized that I hated doing laundry because I had no where to put the clean clothes.

Since I am working on the basement..... The first thing I need to do is start going through the boxes of junk that have been accumulating.... I will have them all emptied and put where it belongs or gotten rid of.

Okay --I decided to work just MY bathroom at this point. I did get dhs bathroom floor ripped up for tiling but that is another challenge.

My metals are brushed silver nickle.

    So, I...

    got the wallpaper down
bought and hung a shower curtain(dh will need to take down the glass doors but it doesn't show behind the curtain)
bought and hung shower rod and the neat rings
I got 4 really cool knobs
I got a nice new light fixture
painted most of the trim wood muslin
put up silver nickle switch and plug covers

We will probably be doing the floor next weekend in tile.

I decided to just make a small curtain for the shower window. I have the fabric already so I can save some cash.

Dh still will need to put up the light fixture.

The ceiling....oh how I dread the ceiling scraping and redoing but it has to be done.

I will get the painting on the wood done tomorrow or Sunday I hope.

I need to still buy paint for the top walls.

Almost everything I found at the hardware store rang up ON SALE at the register and I had a $10 off a $50 purchase so we did really good.

We didn't know the stuff was on sale. We just bought what we liked and what we felt would improve our living space as well as add to resle value.

I did find door knobs to match my great cabinet knobs but oy vey it will cost $200 to do all the doors that need doing.

This months project is to organize my huge trunk of photographs.

I worked on it for about two hours today and ended up with a trash bag full of bad photographs, copies I didn't need, and photos of just random things I didn't want photos of any more. About half of the trunk or more is free for organized photos and a even a memory box. Still working on it but I'm further than I thought I would be on it at this point.

I still need to .... Organize photos by theme.

Figure out that theme (Ex: Daughter, Son (for their memory books), us, family, friends) I'm not going to be able to get them together by event. They were to random. It would take forever!

Put them into photo boxes, or books.

I'll be also going through other memory stuff and tossing what we do not need any longer and making room for new stuff. The important stuff.

I'd like to make enough room in this trunk to be able to fit new stuff for the next 5 - 10 years. Good thing for digital cameras an only printing what we really love!

Well I can't think about this month...I'm just working on this week. I gotta get a "Control Journal" built. I have done some massive purging of stuff. I've eliminated about 3 binders (or more) of junk and consolidated into one binder. Still have some forms/information to pull together. Won't be done till the end of the month...after DH and I go on our planning retreat.

I wish I had an attic! They seem like they would be so much fun going through all the old memories. I know for you it is work but up north attics are only used for insulation!
