I enjoyed the fall fling in 2008, but now that I've flung 1,000 items, I want to see if I can de-clutter even further.
I am starting two months' late, but I am going to try to fling 2009 things this year. Just to add a twist, though, if I bring anything (other than groceries or necessary items [i.e, new hammer or something]) INTO the house, I am going to subtract it from my total flung. So skeins of yarn, strings of beads, new clothes, all that stuff, if it is semi-permanent, it gets counted against things flung.
As of tonight, I am at zero, and I hope to get things started moving OUT of the house tomorrow!
Sold a chinese bowl, artist's model (wood), enamel bowl, gift bag, floral picks, 2 pitchers, candle lantern, book stand, and 7 books today (16). Big day for stuff, not many book sold (boo hoo!).
Took to dump (two trips) 1 hc, 2 tpb, 2 mag, 4 mm and 11 hc 8 tpb, 3 mag, 5 mm, and 1 comic. Also 5 asst other items (42).
We bought 6 magazine pages, 1 floor lamp, and 1 box of photobulbs (-9 items).

Great job PP39! I've got to get moving here again. To motivate myself I took a book on downsizing out of the library the other day. Hopefully it will help motivate me.
Flung a bunch of old fencing material that was too beaten up to save. It wasn't in the house, but it was around the house and "junking" it up, so I'm giving myself 5 fling points for it.
Finally went through the last box from my mom. Flung 67 memories to the trash/garage sale box. I managed to consolidate four boxes down to two, and those two are about to go out to the shed! I suppose I could count the boxes themselves, since they will be out of my house, but I think 67 is plenty
This is a toy? A decorative piece? A dinner menu item?
I'm sorry, I must have been really, really tired when I read this the first time, I went right by it. But today when I reread it all KINDS of images went through my head.
I know you didn't intend it to be humorous, but it made me laugh just the same, so THANKS!
DD#1 and DD#2 were home for the shower, so they both took more stuff back with them. 24 in all. They think I'm crazy as I count it all up before it goes out the door.
plus all of the shower stuff that left Friday and yesterday. I can't count it all, so I'll count it as 10, just for my own sanity.
2 boxes of magazines to the recycle bin and a box of newspapers. I'll count 37 total.
Sold 98 pcs this weekend, bought 4! When I started this I said I wasn't going to count the books, but I have been. So, to be fair about it, I'll try and make the 2009 total twice this year.
Do giving the items away count to as long as they leave your house...lol I am in the process of giving a lot of baby clothes away over the next week to my cousin and his wife who are due any time now (all the short sleeve items since its hotter than you know what right now) and all the long sleeve stuff to a friend of mine that works right next door and is adopting a baby girl in Nov.
Before we went on vacation since I had 2 and a half day's that Paige was gone as well I threw a lot of "junk" out. Multiples of happy meal toys, scratched up dvds (mostly just $1 ones or duplicates as well). I also threw out unmatched socks (except for a few white ones to dust with or wash the cars with).
I got rid of so much stuff that eventhough the trash had just been picked up on Wed. By the time we left Sunday after lunch the trash can was full and I had a couple of old storage boxes either with no lid or cracked beyond use that I was going to throw in my car and put in the dumpster at work.
There is still a lot todo but since I get off early today I plan on re-attacking the back bedroom. It was a room for awhile, then storage after the baby came, then a room again right before I went back to work, now storage again....lol
Flung a gabage bag of fabric to someone else, as well as some yarn. I'd say 50 items in the garbage bag and 10 balls of yarn...at least. So 60 all told.
Everyone is doing great! We are halfway through the year so let's get flinging!
