I flung 10 more items...at least today. I sorted through my magazines and recycled a whole stack of them. Put a bunch of library books in the pile to go back to the library. Also worked on cleaning out the sewing unit in the living room. I'm not done, but I've made headway. Lots of stuff tossed, recycled or repurposed.

I'm at 28 so far today. I'm feeling poorly again, so I'm not sure if I'll be doing any more today. I'll update my sig. later in case I do more.

2 last night. Nothing so far today. Do you guys count trash, like old receipts or used tissues lying around?? I can't seem to come up with the numbers.

I don't do trash like that may need to be tossed on a daily basis, but if I were to clean out a drawer with old receipts I would count them. I don't count 1 for 1 though...I usually count 10 sheets of paper as 1 item. (that's just me personally--I don't know what anyone else does)

Hehehe. It just made me wonder. If I counted every bit of junk mail or old coupons or other bits of trash that end up lying around (instead of going straight into the trash can), I'd have a bit more flung each day I see what you mean about old receipts - that makes sense.

I count what I call "semi-permanent" things. That would include old receipts that you kept because you thought you might need them, but they're eight years old now; cardboard boxes that you figured you could use...in 1988; clothes that you know you will never ever fit into again and even if you could, they are out of style. I don't count household trash, which I would define as something that is generated out of consumption and that you wouldn't consider keeping.

However, I do give credit for recycling. So if you want to count a full recycle bag or bin as a certain number of items flung, I'm all for saving the earth.

...and I think we decided somewhere along this thread that items that were not really flung, but were given to charities or others in need, could be counted as "double" flings.

We did???! I missed that! Most of my stuff goes to the goodwill if I can't gift it to other people. Oh well. My count is a little low I guess. No worries. I have all year yet.

I won't subtract for the 4 journals and new insoles I brought into the house today then.
