Ah, it pays to read EVERY post in the thread! That is how you find the loopholes!

I won't subtract for the 4 journals and new insoles I brought into the house today then.

LOL I didn't know that either. Most of what I counted is stuff that's been delivered to Goodwill. Oh well; I'll just start counting it double from here on out

I am starting two months' late, but I am going to try to fling 2009 things this year. Just to add a twist, though, if I bring anything (other than groceries or necessary items [i.e, new hammer or something]) INTO the house, I am going to subtract it from my total flung. So skeins of yarn, strings of beads, new clothes, all that stuff, if it is semi-permanent, it gets counted against things flung.

As of tonight, I am at zero, and I hope to get things started moving OUT of the house tomorrow!
WOW madhen!! I so need to do this! Thanks for the inspiration!

I stopped off at my OTHER favourite yarn store and bought three skeins of wool yarn to work on another hat (one skein) and to make the felted flower for the first one (two skeins). The proprietor was all excited about some of the new yarns that came in (as I am one of the few yarn customers, vs. fabric customers), so we ended up looking at some nice sock yarns, and I caved and bought one skein to make socks with. Total: 21 items.
Madhen if you bought 12 skeins of yarn to make 1 sweater Shouldn't that count as 1 It's going to be 1 sweater; Right?

More fine print. We decided that items brought in for a project only get counted individually if the project is postponed indefinitely. Consequently, if I bring in 4 skeins of yarn for a shawl, I don't have to count them if the shawl is completed. They cancel each other out.

Good thing, too, or I'd be back in the negative with these beading classes!! Do you know how many seed beads can fit it one teeny little bag!

Madhen, thanks for the clarification!! Too bad I don't have 20 years of junk lying around yet...ha ha, just kidding. My low numbers indicate the relative un-cluttery house I live in! Woohoo!! Though I do have some old coupons in a folder somewhere....

Ok...I am back, had to go out of town....

Out goes the bags of stuff today, to the car and to the goodwill. These bags are packed to the top. We are counting these as 40....I have so much space back by getting rid of these clothes that were not being used, I have empty hangers even.
