Ugh just lost a long post when submitting.

I was able to donate 51 items to the library today (DVD's, VHS movies, and video games), so that counts as 102, right? Because it was a donation? I need to re-read the thread to confirm.

I think this is what you were referring to Michelle.

Confused...why wouldn't the library count as a charity? I'm giving my items to them, not returning things I've borrrowed from them.

And isn't this a challenge to motivate each other vs. a contest?

Not arguing either but am seeking clarification. If we're all counting things differently, then how is that a group challenge?

FTR, I am going to count those items as single items. It will make it more challenging for me to really get this place bare bones

I have to add one back in. I bought a bead caddy to store projects that I'm working on.

I have been flinging at the "yard sale house" that stuff isn't mine but I am going to be adding stuff to that sale that is mine so my numbers are going to be going up. I just can't let it go by the house has a pretty good spot for a yard sale compared to my rural house. So I might make a few dollars off of some of this stuff. So my numbers will be going up this week.

Everyone is counting differently, because each of us knows how difficult or easy it is to fling various items. We set up the "double" rule of thumb when peanut (? I think it was peanut) said she was collecting up items to give to a family who had lost everything in a fire. Since she was actually flinging items she could still use, but was being self-sacrificing, I think I told she should count them as double and a new "rule" was born.

Personally, I don't count items going to thrift/charity or the library as more than one each; however, if I decided to give up a book I really liked, because I wanted others to have the opportunity to read it as well, I would probably give myself more than one point to "reward" myself for the self-sacrifice.

There are no set rules, so no clarification is really necessary. It seems to work best that way, and everyone finds a fair way to count their own flings.

Flung 8 things today. I finally cleaned out a drawer that I have been dreading.
