These look easy enough that maybe a non-sewing person like me could do them!

Of course you can Val!! They can even be sewn up by hand if someone have a sewing machine!! I was so happy to see this idea since I've been wanting some new head bands but hadn't decided on what kind!!

Sunshine thanks for the pattern info. Can not wait to make some and use up some of my smaller pieces of fabric. As far as the Christmas challenge I love being done by October. I shop and make year round as much as possible. Right now I have some books ordered for my daughter. I want to make my hubby a scarf. I also want to make mittens for everyone. Maybe matching hats. We have Christmas Tree shops here and they sell fleece blankets for 2.99. You can cut them up and make things out of them. I bought some to make myself a coat. Haven't done it yet-lol-but I have the blankets to make it with

That is a great price for the fleece blankets Liane! Great idea to cut them up and make your own things with!

Becoming frustrated by the lack of men's items on clearance. Why are men's items so hard to find? I've found tons of things for the women in my family, but not the men save a few colognes. There was a clearance on mustache wax but only one guy has a mustache, so that was no help. I had been hoping that the Winter hats and gloves & Winter hunting gear would go on clearance at Kmart ( I can usually find 90% off clearance of that kind of stuff in early Spring) but, nada. I guessing they did not purchase as much inventory last Winter because of the economy.

    Any ideas?

Oh Polly I too have the worst time with men. They are the most difficult. Do some of them read? If the like a certain topic let me know as I have a ton of new books that I will sell cheap. Another idea is sleeping pants. Right now they are quite reasonable and if you add a plain tshirt at the end of the summer season (when they go on sale) you have a cheap gift. How about a household tool kit?they have alot of tools at the dollar store. I will try and think of more for you.

Debbie, Not a single one reads with the exception of my DH. He is a manual reader, go figure.

I'll see if I can find some PJ pants. They would certainly suit most guys on my family list. I'm sure the last thing they spend their money on is PJ's! Thanks!

And yeah, any more ideas please shoot them my way. I'm wide open for suggestions. I have 4 20 somethings on my list. They all are broke and rarely buy clothing, outerware, hobby stuff like hunting, smell good stuff. They buy the necessites of life I think and little else.

great idea on the pj pants - think it may be cheaper to buy than to make them. Will check out the sales!!

Liane - cannot believe that price on fleece blankets!! New Jersey is a little far to travel for such a bargain though!!

Good idea on the sleep pants...most people like those to sleep and lounge in. Polly I bought all of the men and boys in my family those for Christmas this past year for cheap. My Mom and I went to Walmart later in the day on Black Friday to pick up these cool sets that they had. I don't remember the price exactly, but they were maybe $7 for the men and included pants and a shirt and the set my Mom got for my middle son included a flashlight and slippers also and a mesh bag. I bought two sets for my youngest (Spongebob and Toy Story) for $4 each with pants and a shirt. I know Black Friday is very close to Christmas, but you may want to look for something similar then. They may not have the same things again, but I'd keep an eye out. I have trouble with the men also. My dh rarely asks for specifics so I just get him whatever I want and can afford to get him...same with my Dad.

Debbie-cat, do you have any books on the Civil War? What about politics?
