Mini-Fling Challenge - Your Dresser/Closet
Okay, I was going to do an office purge, because I thought no one had participated in the "unmentionables" mini-fling, but lo and behold, when I logged in, turns out that many of you participated!
So, first of all, Yeah!
I figured that since we were already working with clothes, we could go ahead and stay in that genre for today. :)
Today I'm hitting my dresser and my closet. I'm taking some advice from Peter Walsh, author of It's All Too Much: An Easy Plan for Living a Richer Life With Less Stuff
When looking at clothes, Peter says you should ask yourself the following questions:
Do you love it?
Does it fit you well now?
Do it make you feel good when you wear it?
Have you worn it in the past six months?
I'm going to look at the clothes in my dresser and closet through that lens and see what I can donate or sell at consignment. I know I have things that I just don't wear. I'm not really sure why I've been hanging on to them...I keep thinking that I might need them. Like, I should probably keep my 20 t-shirts because I'll be taking some time off this summer and you know...you need a lot of t-shirts in the summer, because apparently I won't be doing laundry in the summer and will need 20 t-shirts to get me through almost three weeks. Nonsense. I could do with, probably, 7 t-shirts and call it a day.
However, I'm not going to get rid of 13 t-shirts today. I know myself. I'm a purger, but I do draw the line somewhere! :toothy: I will, though, get rid of quite a few.
So, what about you? What can you get rid of? Will you look at your clothing through Peter Walsh's lens and decide that some of it can go?
Let me hear how you do!
(Don't forget, if you are participating in the Fling 2010 Things in 2010, your totals in the mini-challenges count there, as well!)
