    Default Mini-Fling Challenge - Your Dresser/Closet

Okay, I was going to do an office purge, because I thought no one had participated in the "unmentionables" mini-fling, but lo and behold, when I logged in, turns out that many of you participated!

    So, first of all, Yeah!

I figured that since we were already working with clothes, we could go ahead and stay in that genre for today.

Today I'm hitting my dresser and my closet. I'm taking some advice from Peter Walsh, author of It's All Too Much: An Easy Plan for Living a Richer Life With Less Stuff

When looking at clothes, Peter says you should ask yourself the following questions:

    Do you love it?
Does it fit you well now?
Do it make you feel good when you wear it?
Have you worn it in the past six months?

I'm going to look at the clothes in my dresser and closet through that lens and see what I can donate or sell at consignment. I know I have things that I just don't wear. I'm not really sure why I've been hanging on to them...I keep thinking that I might need them. Like, I should probably keep my 20 t-shirts because I'll be taking some time off this summer and you know...you need a lot of t-shirts in the summer, because apparently I won't be doing laundry in the summer and will need 20 t-shirts to get me through almost three weeks. Nonsense. I could do with, probably, 7 t-shirts and call it a day.

However, I'm not going to get rid of 13 t-shirts today. I know myself. I'm a purger, but I do draw the line somewhere! I will, though, get rid of quite a few.

So, what about you? What can you get rid of? Will you look at your clothing through Peter Walsh's lens and decide that some of it can go?

Let me hear how you do!
(Don't forget, if you are participating in the Fling 2010 Things in 2010, your totals in the mini-challenges count there, as well!)

Oh this is a good one! I need to go through my closets and drawers! I do this about once a year and always surprise myself in how much I actually get rid of! Thanks for the little nudge!

The fling 2010 things was too much for me......but I do have a closet that I need to go through.

I also have a partially filled bag to go to goodwill.......so this may just get it filled up.

So, taking Maui's comment into consideration, I'm going to say we can take until Tuesday to complete this mini-challenge. That should give those of us with weekend plans a little more time, and those of us who just need to gear up for a closet purge!

Let us know how it goes!

I am in!!! I think I can get rid of quite a few things. We went to uniforms about 2 years ago and all that I wear now outside of work are the same ol blue jeans and ratty tshirts. I am just going to go through and get rid of what I havent worn in 6 months!!
Looking forward to more room in my closet and dresser!!

Hey, hey! How's it going, everyone??? Are we madly flinging and purging those closets and dressers? Or, are we hiding in a corner, hoping that AmyBoz doesn't see you!?!?!?!?!

I am going to have to have a few more days to finish this one. My boyfriend works overnights and is sleeping when I get home from work so I am having trouble getting in there to do it. I will get some flinging going on though!!

Okay, because I believe in the importance of this mini-challenge, I'll give you all until Sunday, March 7th to complete this challenge.

It's important to really take a hard look at your clothes. So many of us have so many more than we ever wear, and someone else could probably really use those clothes!

I purged 18 items of clothing! I got rid of mostly t-shirts, but also a pair of jeans that I no longer wear! Feeling lighter already!

    Anyone else?
