That's a good idea, thanks! I have been working in the
    kitchen the past two days.
Yesterday I got a lot of dishes cleaned and sorted. Today,
I've been cleaning out cabinets and sorting more...
(I have piles of stuff everywhere). Most of it is going in
the trash, recycles, or donate box. Once I have enough stuff
to fill my cabinets, the rest is going out!
It may take me another week to completely finish
the kitchen, but once it's done, it's done.
Will check in tomorrow and let you know
    how I'm doing.

acabin42, I think you are doing great. One by one getting things done. I like to make a list of lots of little projects even if they are all related to the same task. Mark the littles ones off and the whole project will soon be done. Just helps me to see some of the things on my list being checked off no matter how small. Makes the big jobs seem more my size.

KentuckySaver, thanks! This morning I started in again. When I started the kitchen, I started at one corner...cleaned, washed, sorted as I went. And I am moving right along. This morning I'm on the second corner....yipee! This corner had alot of counterspace...I was just using it wrong....so I rearranged it, and it is giving me more room to work.... The counter top is done, now going to do the corner cabinet (with lazysusan thingy).....
    More later..... (I'm so excited).

Well, I went up to my hometown over Easter weekend and stayed with my sister. It is amazing how organized she is...wonder which parent she got that from? Anyway, I watched her all weekend and we talked about housekeeping....it seems she never stops! I mean she works a full time job, entertained me and my other siblings all weekend, and her house was looking great the whole time. So, she was an inspiration to me...thank goodness!
Tomorrow, I have a doctor's appointment, but will get some more work done in the kitchen as well. I am going to make that other trip to the recycle center while I'm in town tomorrow.

Thanks for giving me inspiration...you all are great!

Still working at it! I went through some more clothes/shoes/misc. for the yard sale. Will take that stuff out of the house Sunday when I go to church. Have sorted through my purses/wallets....bags...I LOVE tote bags. I am really a BagLady! Anyway, sorting and decluttering still. I am proud of me! Thank you for all the encouragement. On to do more!

Sorry I haven't reported for awhile. Things are moving right along. Am still taking box after box of stuff out of here for the church yard sale next week. After the sale, all donated stuff will find a new home somewhere else.
I do have coming coming in June to spend 5 or 6 days with us...this has given me an actual DEADLINE to get it done. So far, I have worked on it every day, just not as hard as I should have been...lol.
Now that we are having company....woohoo...I WILL have the whole house done.... "I'm excited".....

I am letting this thread drop...not because I'm not doing anything, but because I have joined the Weekly Pyramid challenge. I am still keeping busy. (not fast, have several health issues, but am plodding along).

    Thanks for all the support.

Congrats on your retirement. My parents are now both retired and they each had an adjustment period. Now they have their own schedule. What works for me with things around the house is a deadline. If I know I have to get the kitchen organized by the 19th then I know I have to have it done. Schedule a dinner party and that will give you a deadline to work towards. Start with baby steps but try a deadline, it always works for me.
