I finished my first knitted scarf! One item down, 11 more to go, to reach my goal! I am starting another scarf....this one with a nice fat chunky yarn...using larger needles, should be a quick knit! I hope to have it finished this week, and then I will have two Christmas gifts finished before 2011 even starts! yay! I can't knit scarves for everyone....I'm hoping to learn to knit some mittens! But I am having a hard time learning anything but a knit stitch...lol....January will be a very struggling month...learning to knit better!

Hotprincess - you learned to knit so quickly, I am sure that you will quickly conquer any new stitches that you want to use!!

I am definitely going to keep all my senses open to good ideas for men and teenage girls.

The purl stitch is fairly easy as well.... I can Knit and Purl. The problem is doing both in the same row!

Way To Go on the already completed scarf!

I want to try a few for 2011. I used to make my girls (4) pj pants each year but haven't done so in more than 6yrs. I think they kinda miss them since they're still wearing the last ones I made, however snug they may be!

This year I made a scrapbook recipe book for my dd that just got married and this year my other dd, her twin, is getting married so I'm sure I'll make her one too. I also included a 9x13 pan filled with spices that she would need to make most of the recipes.

I am going to be in on this...I already told my family I would be making homemade gifts for next year. This year I made two aprons and absolutely LOVED making and giving and the girls LOVED receiving! It was a win/win. This year i am going to try to make something for everyone on my list.

VVC and Wunsagin - please remember to post the ideas you have for presents - that is one of the best things that we all share - in addition to never ending support of course!!

I am in the process of making a crocheted baby doll blanket for my little grand-daughter. I have also bought some smokey grey yarn that I will use to make a scarf for my son-in-law.

I also have a lot of fabric on hand. I will be making some pillows for the girl tweens in the family. I will embroider their initials and flowers, etc, onto the fabric for personalization. I probably will also make pillows for the families (haven't done that for several, several years)

This is a big list to start with. I better get busy.

How about some of those hooded scarves as gifts? They should be easy to make. I think I'll give one a try.

Oh! I am SOOOO STEALING the pj pants idea for my daughters!!!!

My mom sews, she has a sewing machine, I don't, but she is the type to make me do it myself. She will help but not take over. Heck by the time I'm done I could probably add this to my "homesteading skills" hahahaa
