That's the problem I had with my bedroom which is supposed to be my January Clean & Organized Home Project. DH decided to do my office shelves and no way was I going to say, "Not now dear! I'm cleaning the bedroom" LOL. But I still have time to work on the bedroom in January so I hope to.

Woo hoo!! My project was to revamp my bird feeder station. I have the bird feeders all cleaned up and set up in a new area, by the tack room. I have one out there that isn't filled yet - the suet holder - but it is ready to go. I have a peanut/striped sunflower seed feeder as well that I haven't hung up, mostly because I am concerned that the squirrels will just die from happiness if I do.

Looks great madhen. Must be nice to have no snow!

I got two more drawers cleaned out today and part of the closet.

No snow, just a couple of very hard freezes.

Now let's see if the birds approve!

I got a lot done in the closet yesterday in the top shelves and just need to organize my holiday decorations now. Sounds like everyone's been hard at work!

The birds approved my new location!! Lots of little birds flocking to the feeders!! I added a suet block and a hummer feeder, so that should keep just about everyone happy.

I completed my January challenge. The hall closet is done! I found my hair cutting razor that I have been looking for forever! It's all organized now and I will slap the first person who starts throwing junk back in there.

I'm still working on my office/pantry, still filing papers. The past two days I've cleaned out a desk drawer, set up the Medical file for DH, me and Mom. I still have to add a folder for the dog and her med records. I also set up a separate file for Mom with papers on her insurances, and other stuff I have to keep up with.

I sorted through my food related papers and set up one for general food and one for harvesting and preserving food. I didn't get everything filed before bed time last night so hope to get that done today. It takes me forever because I struggle with wanting it to be perfect and right but keep telling myself that ANY organization is better than what it has been!

I have some books stored in a couple of the file drawers that I have to find a new place for. DH and DS haven't built our library shelves yet so most of our books are still in boxes.

i will be SO happy to have this paperwork taken care of!!

I picked the wrong project for January.

I managed to get DD's bedroom and the Laundry room done but have barely touched the Master bedroom.

I'll make a goal to get the Master bedroom closet done this month and start on the actual bedroom in February. I'll have to get the Master bathroom some point in time as well!

DH's January project is coming along though... The attic flooring is getting redone to prepare to get the attic reinsulated.

The new feeding station is GREAT!! No more hauling buckets of thistle and sunflower seed up the slope to my old location! I just keep them in the tackroom and grab a scoop. Works better for me, because I have to walk all of about eight feet to refill the feeders; works better for the birds because their feeders never run out now; all in all, I am calling it a success!!

My February project is to create a "bug out" bag. I am thinking I'm going to make one up for the truck (maybe two, just in case, to keep one in each vehicle), but I also want to create an emergency bag for the house, so that I have one "kit" for being snowed in with no power for a week and another (in the vehicle) for having to evacuate immediately due to wildland fires (the only real danger out where I live).

The first thing I have to do is start making a list of the things I think I will need in both kits, so I'm going to start on that this month, as I think this project might take me longer than 30 days to accomplish. Also, my "emergency" kit for home might include things I won't have by the end of Feb, but think I *should* have, such as a good generator.

I saw the picture of your feeding station and it looks really nice. It's so satisfying to finally get something checked off the list, isn't it?
What species of birds to you get?

Mostly finches, including goldfinches. More hummingbirds than I can catalogue. Towhees, scrub jays, acorn woodpeckers, and orioles are also pretty common. There are a couple that I haven't been motivated enough to identify yet. I also get ravens, wild turkey, and quail, but they come in for the chicken scratch and for the in-ground bird bath. The occasional turkey vulture deigns to sun himself on my fenceposts.
