I finished buying all four boxes of omeprazole at Walgreens. It was $4 off regular price, plus $6 register receipt, so I saved $40. I used some of the register coupons today - one of the stores had bags of almonds on clearance with expiration dates in November. I got 6 of them for $2 each - a windfall. I may go by again and pick up some more.

I had a hard time getting going today for some reason. Partly because of the dream I had wherein my husband decided to quit his well-paying job he's had for nineteen years and go back to calling bingo at the casino. Talk about a nightmare! So in the dream we couldn't pay our bills. Naturally, I didn't sleep well so now I'm just tired. But I did get some cookbooks sorted to fling. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.

I also made gingersnap dough and a double batch of oatmeal scotchies dough for the freezer, so now my husband has a good supply of cookie dough to bake up when he feels like it. That helps me not eat stuff I shouldn't.

    Thursday's list:

    1. Plant mustard greens for Mom.
    2. Work on no sew rug, which I had to rip almost all the way to the beginning.

    Encore to-do's:

    1. Finish column.
    2. Find pics and recipes for column and article.

Tomorrow I must finish my articles and get them shipped to my publisher, so that's the only thing on my list.

    Friday:

    1. Finish articles, no excuses!

I lost count of how many of my 43 things I got done so far this week. Oh, well, I did pretty well overall, I think. The main thing for me is just to get something done, even if it's not on the real list.

I switched out a couple of tasks for things I had to do. It will make me feel better to scratch them off, and I'm so wiped out after grocery shopping that I wouldn't have gotten the others done anyway. I have no scruples about pyramid cheating.

I should start cheating, too. I'm usually doing something, just not necessarily what's on the list.

Grrrrr. The uncatchable rat has found the pantry/closet, in addition to destroying the AC hose and adding creepiness to my repertoire of apartment experiences. Yesterday I found a bag of barley chewed into and half eaten, so it's also a fat rat. However in fairness, I don't know when this happened. It could have been on the last round - a number of apartments, including mine, had issues maybe a couple of months ago. Where that particular bag was, I wouldn't have noticed it. I discovered it when I picked up a now empty box to discard and few grains of barley rattled around in it.

SO - all the other tasks are off the board. Between getting off the computer and going to work, I'll be working at getting the grain/legumes and ratty things into tins, everything else chewable into plastic containers, as much as possible. Fortunately I have a fair number on hand that I can use.

I am So Tired of the rat problem, but in fairness, the apartment management is doing everything possible to solve it and it isn't their fault. There are fast food dumpsters on the other side of the fence near our block of apartments and they are surely rat heaven. One or more have just found that the indoor life has it's own attractions. These things just happen.

I didn't get my articles done, but at least I sorted out some more cookbooks to donate. This always takes me a while because I look through them and usually copy a few recipes out of each.

I made cheese too, but that only took a few minutes. It tastes a lot like queso blanco.

I'll post tomorrow's list later or maybe tomorrow.
