I'm moving right along! I might get it all done today!

    1. Clean and store Aerogarden.
    2. Transplant second wave of seedlings.

    3. Look at broken sewing machine again.
    4. Marinate ribs.
    5. Plant sunflowers.
    6. Repot Christmas cacti.
    7. Look for shirt pattern.

    8. Clean beans and mushrooms.
    9. Make vanilla sugar.
    10. Look at mushroom crop and proceed to next step.
    11. Cook corned beef.
    12. Sort patterns to donate.

The mushrooms look great! Okay, they look like finely-webbed mold, but I think that's how they're supposed to look. Now I have to mist them every two days and keep them in the sewing room where it's cooler. So far, this is a fun science project! I hope we get some mushrooms out of it.

YEA, got it all DONE! I wasn't sure I would, especially the sewing machine. I really didn't want to look at it. It's sewing great now, but the thread cutter doesn't work. It's been acting up so I had already accepted I might just have to live without it anyway, so big whoop. I may or may not look at it again sometime, or more likely just leave it till it needs professional work done on it.

The beans and mushrooms were delicious steamed and eaten with a little soy sauce with the marinated pork ribs for supper. There's enough left of both plus the strawberries we had for dessert so I don't have to cook supper tomorrow.

    1. Clean and store Aerogarden.
    2. Transplant second wave of seedlings.
    3. Look at broken sewing machine again.
    4. Marinate ribs.
    5. Plant sunflowers.
    6. Repot Christmas cacti.
    7. Look for shirt pattern.
    8. Clean beans and mushrooms.
    9. Make vanilla sugar.
    10. Look at mushroom crop and proceed to next step.
    11. Cook corned beef.
    12. Sort patterns to donate.

    Sunday's list:

    1. Hem at least one guest towel for sewing challenge.
    2. Unload dishwasher.
    3. Load dishwasher.
    4. Find six cookbooks to donate.
    5. Work on rug.
    6. Re-seed garden starter tray.
    7. Dig out old kitchen cabinets to prep for recycling to sewing room.
    8. Gather items needed to enlarge sleeping bags.
    9. Re-sew two reusable sandwich wraps.
    10. Put away twelve tools from kitchen table.

Bonus: I shredded up the corned beef per a tip I read on FV somewhere, and packed that into pint jars and put it in the freezer, for tasty dining on reuben sandwiches at some later date when I need a quick meal. Yum!

I really would like to see the top of our kitchen table sometime this year. It's still piled full of tools from the kitchen remodel, and some boxes from stuff like the canning jars that got hauled in from the garage. So the time has come to see about getting some of that chaos put away, now that the kitchen project is winding down.

I still can't believe we got so much done. We had no intention of re-doing the kitchen this year but happened across a decent sale at Lowe's, on the very cabinets we'd been eying for a couple of years. Fortunately, the old kitchen sink seal had leaked and the old countertop was ruined (yea!) so we decided to go for it. We love it, and it's so much better than what we had before, we're sorta sorry we didn't do it before.

Old, crappy, pieced together cabinets. Note the too-short upper cabinet and lack of DRAWERS!

New, taller upper cabinets with old, crappy base cabinets and too-ugly-for-words countertop.

New cabinets in same space with drawers galore.

New sink and counter for the cabinets above.

I'm not bragging, just still so excited about this project. I can't believe it yet!

Can I hijack a thread or what?
