Can't seem to get any traction today. At least I got the pics taken for my article, I think, and of course had to turn on the computer to look at them, and now here I am, breaking my rule of not being online during the day. Oh, well, I'm going back to sewing very soon.

    Later.

Well, I managed to finish my list, such as it was. I made a teeny tiny shopping bag, for when I send my husband to the hardware store for one bolt or something like that. And I made up the second of the smiley face bags. One to go. Shouldn't take long.

Since I was so short of time, I made up a long grain and wild rice mix for my new recipe of the day. I quit buying stuff like Rice-A-Roni due to the sodium, so I'm looking for replacements. I think this will be good! It's got good stuff in it anyway.

    Friday:

    1. Try to get one sleeping bag enlarged and out of the sewing room.
    1. (a) Make a new recipe.

I think I'll let tomorrow take care of itself, too!

I made salt-free lemon pepper for my recipe today. I love lemon pepper but I'm really trying to avoid sodium where it's logical to do so. Fortuitously, one of our local grocery stores was giving away pepper for free this week, so it was good timing.

I didn't even think about the sleeping bag, but I do want to get started on that project again. Right now the sleeping bags and the bedspread I'll be making the extensions with are in a huge heap all over one of my sewing machine tables and one of my sewing chairs. I want my machine back where it belongs, and I don't want to just shuffle the sleeping bags, I want them done and out of that room. I keep hoping they'll alter themselves but so far, no luck with that.

I made a quadruple batch of dreamsicle cookie dough for the freezer, so I could use up the last of the Tang that's been floating around the pantry for several years now. I just got tired of seeing it in there! And the stockpiled vanilla chips we got for eighty cents a bag are just about gone now, so I thought I should make up the cookie dough before they were gone, since I needed two bags for the extra-large batch. I didn't want to pay full price for them.

Spirit Deer - you inspired to think about different recipes. I didn't do the chicken and squash I intended to, though that was new recipe too. I looked at what I had and came up with a great dish - why didn't I ever do this before?

I sauteed some steak and onions. Pulled out a jar of beef gravy I bought when it was on sale last Thanksgiving. I wasn't sure why, since I use gravy about once every three years. I dumped that in, cooked it down some, and then put in a big glop of the sour cream. I ate it over pasta and oh, my, was it ever good! I'm looking for gravy sales next Thanksgiving! It couldn't have been easier.

Everything done, given the recipe substitution except preparing salad veggies and bringing in the rest of the shopping. They'll be leftovers.

I haven't made the recipes I intended to make every day either. Today was supposed to be mini-meatloaves, but I found the lemon pepper recipe which I've been meaning to try. About the time I was done with that, bead fever hit me so I had to go work on my beading project.

Be sure to write your recipe down so you don't forget about it! That sounds really good! You could just make gravy on the meat and onions, if you didn't want to buy gravy. Lower sodium and fat if you DIY.

I have a ton of jar mix recipes, and recipes for making all kinds of regular mixes. I need to assemble some of those using canning jars, and that means I need to re-organize the pantry yet again. There have been big changes in the way we eat over the past year or so, and I need to go through our stuff with those changes in mind. I'm also still re-organizing things for optimum efficiency in the new kitchen, and the pantry is part of that. It's all fun for me though.
