Wishing you all a properous and successful week!

For myself, I'm off work as of tomorrow for the week, and I'm also going to take a vacation from lists and things to do. I'm going to do as little as possible of the boring stuff that generally makes the lists. The fun stuff - well, that's another story.

I'm in again. I didn't write a list this morning, but I've been busy all day.

    1. Started working on sleeping bag alterations. That project is going to be a nightmare.
    2. Tended AG peppers.
    3. Tended AG tomatoes.
    4. Tended mushrooms.
    5. Made new recipe: Mini-meatloaves.
    6. Made new recipe: White chocolate-almond cookies.
    7. Made new recipe: Filled chocolate wafer cookies.
    8. Sewed storage bag for some camping gear.
    9. Washed dishes from all the new recipes.
    10. Medicated dog.
    11. Chopped four pounds of walnuts.
    12. Flung two cookbooks for GW.

I also downloaded another book to my nook. I love my nook! I didn't expect to but it's more comfortable to hold than a book and since I can make the font bigger, it causes less eye strain. I can also download books from the Minneapolis library system and the Duluth library system, as well as our regional system.

    Sunday's list:

    1. Work on sleeping bags again.
    2. Tend mushrooms.
    3. Finish chocolate wafer cookies. (They have to chill overnight.)
    4. Make list of desired perennials.
    5. Clear off table for sewing machine.
    6. Put sewing machine where it belongs.
    7. Tend Aerogardens.
    8. Make new recipe.
    9. Medicate dog.
    10. Track food.

Spirit Deer - e-readers are tops! I love my Kindle. I wish it had the ability to download library books, but I have more on it than I can read in a lifetime as it is.

I agree, they are much more comfortable to read than a real book. They'll have to install a light in my coffin, because I'm taking my Kindle with me.

Donna, there's a program you can download for Kindle that will allow it to use Epub format. I think it's called Caliber. I read about it on the Kindle discussion boards before we bought our nook. Most libraries use Epub format.

Okay, I'm running out of steam, so I suspect that is it for today. I can't send off the letter or call the vet until Monday, so that leaves only four real stragglers for tomorrow. Catching up!!

Spirit Deer, you're right about Calibri - I had forgotten that. I used to have it on the computer to catalogue the e-books, but it was more involved than I needed for that - I just use a spreadsheet list. So I deleted it. I should look into that again. Thanks for the reminder.

I said I wasn't doing lists, but can I do brags? A What-I-Did-During-My-Easter-Vacation list? Just so you don't all think I'm sleeping the whole week?

    Today:

    1. With a friend's help, moved the bed into the dining room
    2. Joann's - bought fabric for a curtain (She Who Hates to Sew makes a face)
    3. Went back to Joann's to get the storage unit I had coveted

Bed in dining room - living alone I can be as bohemian as I want. I share a bedroom wall with an exercise nut who thinks 2:30 am is the time to hit the treadmill and what sounds like a punching bag. It's easier to adjust than to fight it. Also there is a patio door in the bedroom on the east - it's way too light in the morning to sleep.

Curtain - This gives me a west window by the bed. I bought a length of pretty batik fabric to dim the room just a bit more. With that and the quilt, it's going to be Colorful. Maybe too colorful! But I hate sewing. I'm not even going to drag out the sewing machine - just hand stitch a pocket and a hem, hang it inside the window framing. This is functional, not decor.

I rejected the storage unit when I was in Joann's, then went back to get it - I just live across the streeet. Then I found out at the checkout that it wasn't on sale until the 21st. I just used a 50% coupon, paid an extra $5 -- "It's my birthday, my preciousssssss, and I wantssssss it!" (As good an excuse as any) It will hold all my crochet patterns and sewing notions and office supplies.

Now, off to make a curtain.
