I've started going through all of our clothing. I have a huge stack I haven't counted yet that is in good shape to be yardsaled or donated. I figure I'll count that when I bag it up. I've pitched 6 so far. Out of necessity I cleaned out my trunk yesterday and into the garbage went at least a half a dozen items that were soaked where my anti-freeze jug leaked.

yup power failed so sump pump failed so dh and I had to bail it out we need to get a battery backup for the sump pump or a small generator. it wasn't too bad a lot of people had a whole lot worse. but we decided to use it as a chance to really clear out the junk that we had been "saving for later"

    How's everyone doing?

It's been a busy week here but I've been keeping my eye out for flingables as I've went through my week and to the best of my memory I've managed to fling:

    ~ 4 flooring mags
    ~ 2 old notebooks
~ a bottle of expoctorant that expired in 2006
~ a kroger bag full of papers (I hung it on my closet door and dumped stuff in it till it was full enough to sit on the floor and crammed till there was no more rom to cram) 25

    32new + 12 = 46/1000

I've been continueing to weed through the clothes and the stack is growing. That will be a nice chinck when I'm done.

This morning I decided I wanted to join you too. I have been sorting and cleaning anyway, so I'll just start counting! My goal is to fling 350 things.

~Today I dropped of all the bags of stuff that filled the back of our van. There were at least 10 and a big box in the front too. Nice to have that stuff finally gone, gone.
This morning I started another bag and added a pair of shorts and 4 pairs of outgrown kid's shoes. I also finished entering all the rest of the Coke points caps I had saved.
    18 today. ~

I will be joining this challenge also.
I did a major purge when I had my garage sale in June but it seems like there are some areas that could get purged again.

First thing I will be cleaning in my bedroom. Need to go through the closets again and see if there is anything that I did not wear this summer and get rid of it. I feel if I did not wear it this season it can go.
DH also has lots of stuff he did not wear that can go.

I am all caught up in the purging spirit and starting going through things at work! My boss was there so we had my dh haul out a bunch of broken displays and junk we had in the storage room. I'm not going to count these in my personal totals but if felt good in my spirit

I had intended to get started sooner, but we are trying to settle into homeschooling.

This weekend we DID get started. I've been trying to convince dd7 to thin things out in her room, but each and everything has been her favorite......

SO, mom got creative. We brought up the laundry baskets, had her put all stuffies in one, dolls in another, etc. We took everything out of her room, except for furniture and clothing. I brought her down stairs and she was shocked. I told her we had to sort it and put back in her room neatly. She just stood there for awhile, and she said "Momma, there's too much! It won't fit in my room." The living room was FULL. and it's twice the size of her room.

So, I asked her if we could sell or donate some things. She said yes. We started with stuffies, she was given a bin with a lid, and she chose her most favorites, and 3 for her bed. Over 1/2 of those went. Then we went to dolls, she chose 2 and had a bin for baby accessories. Etc.

In the end she got rid of over 4 giant yard waste bags of stuff! Most has already left the house. There are 2 items we are trying to sell. I estimate nearlly 600 items(there were polly pockets, barbies, baby books, etc) that she let go on her own steam

A little shock therapy for her, but she is keeping her room clean easily. Dh is very happy to see it done.

Next - Laundry room storage areas.
