~Great strategy Mommy4ever! For her to understand what is too much at age 7 is awesome! I'll bet she loves all the space in her room now.~

Thanks Part of the problem is the older sisters dump what they don't want anymore on her. I have asked them to bring these things to me, and I'll either tell them no, donate it, or I'll help dd decide if she really wants it or not. Clothings and stuffies are what they toss in her room. Now they aren't getting any more stuffies, they've kept their special ones, I've a couple tucked away in keepsakes. But the rest is leaving the house, not being dumped on the littlest, that's really not fair.

~Today I gathered up 5 clothing items from my sewing pile that I decided not to reconstruct, an ice cube tray, 10 clothing items from dd's drawers and 5 cloth napkins in patterns that don't match my kitchen. Adding 21!~

~Added 2 baby clothes items to the donate bag as well as a large bag of artificial greenery. I tossed a very old WIP, a bag of cording I had planned to recycle years ago and a small bag of various little craft items to recycle like empty spools and hopelessly tangled embroidery floss. I'll count it all as 5.~

~4 cushions(I spent more time picking them up off the floor than actually using them, crazy kids!), 1 book, 8 magazines, a pair of holey socks, a moldy box, and a pair of flip-flops. 16 yesterday!
I also went through my online listings and lowered prices again. I'll do that again in two weeks and every two weeks until the items sell or they're priced low enough for me to donate instead.~

~I spent half the day today sorting through the baby clothes and kids' clothes and purging. This year was different though. Last year I had a newborn and rushed through the sorting. We didn't know what her gender would be until she was born so I still had quite a few boy clothes on hand just in case. Well this year it occurred to me that if I'm really saving this stuff for another boy, it will be almost 10 years until he wears any of the larger stuff I've saved. And the styles will be off and the elastic shot by then. The smaller stuff has already been stored over 5 years.
So I put a bunch of stuff in the donate bags. And I cried. It just felt like donating that stuff was letting go of the hope of another boy. I know that's weird. But I was able to get the bags loaded into the van for dropping off later this week.
All in all today I weeded out 107 things to toss or donate: lots of clothes, a duvet cover, sippy cups and a game case.
    I'm halfway to my goal!
Once I attack my t-shirt diaper project I'll be able to add another 100+. ~

    Nope you're not alone!

I have 75 clothing items, 104 books, a gps, going to the church rummage sale tonight.

today I hope to go through some of the kitchen cabinets and thin those out too.
