When you see me here again, you will all just roll your eyes, but I have a lot I want to do this week. First of all, great rejoicings - tomorrow is my last wretched day shift, then I'm off except for a few hours next Sunday until the following Wednesday when I start on nights again. I thought the day would never come. Wednesday I'll be up early to get some things done early, but Thanksgiving there will be no alarm and I can sleep until I want to get up - for the first time since late August. Free at last!

    Today:

    1. Finish weaving ends on lapghan
    2. Catch up with the kitchen mess
    3. Clear off computer table
    4. Prepare salad veggies
    5. Charge Kindle
    6. Two rows, at least, on current lapghan

Wow, busy day today. We took my mom to see her cancer doctor, who said goodbye, good luck, and see ya around. So we went out to celebrate! It's been five years since she finished cancer treatment with no sign of a recurrence, and they don't expect it to come back. Her doc told her they don't think she'll have to see him again, but she's been in a clinical trial so they may have a different protocol. At any rate, it's very good news.

We did a bunch of errands while we were there (70 miles from here), returned a too-short blind, bought a bunch of stuff, took my mom grocery shopping since the only grocery in her town burned to the ground a couple months ago, and just did a bunch of little stuff like that.

We took the kitty Snuggles to the shelter, where they seemed to be happy to get them. They put some of them in the cages. When we were there, they brought in six little kitties and their mama and put them in a cage with one of the red and white pads I made, and the black ones just popped. I was hoping the bright colors would do that for them. All the kitties were begging for our attention, and it was hard not to cuddle them all. Anyway, it was a good experience so we'll probably bring stuff over there again. It seems like a nice shelter with a good staff.

Tomorrow we're picking up a freezer that's on a pre-Black Friday special, almost half off. If we get that in the house, we'll probably take the rest of the day off. We're worn out from today and wrestling with an awkward 100-pound freezer isn't going to make us feel better. I may not even touch yarn tomorrow!

Freezer's in! It's fairly small so it wasn't as bad as we thought it might be. My husband just plugged it in and it's very quiet, so that's good since it has to live in our family room next to the kitchen. I hope it works out for us. We'll probably move into it tomorrow. It only came with one basket and no dividers for the bottom to help organize it, but one of the wire baskets we salvaged from the recycle place last summer fits in the bottom like it was made to go there. Yea! We have another one similar we may be able to modify to fit, so that's good, too. I'm sure we'll find good ways to organize so we can find our stuff.

I was so tired when I got home last night all I did was read, so I don't really have anything to cross off. I'm off tomorrow and I'll check in with lists and updates. I think tonight will just be a Thank-God-I'm-off-tomorrow-I'll-do-it-then night.

    Freezer's cold! So that's a good sign.

After looking at baskets on Amazon for the freezer, I've decided I adore the ones we salvaged. The one fits perfectly, the other is the same size but has a slant in one end at the bottom. I looked at it a minute ago and it's not as big a space as I thought, so I think we're going to just waste that space. There needs to be a little air circulation in there anyway. So not having to buy those from Amazon saves us an additional $22. Sure am glad I pick up stuff from the recycle from time to time! We're hoping to find a basket or two to hang from the top of the freezer when we haul trash later this week. The freezer only came with one basket and we'd like more, but they're ridiculously expensive.

Tomorrow's list will include moving into the new freezer and sorting and organizing the old one. I bet we'll find a few things we've forgotten about.

We're going to have to be careful not to stock up stuff to the point we have both of them full to the brim.

I guess it's time to drag out the OAMC cookbooks again, and go back to planning some WW OAMC meals. Now I'll have room to make some more OAMC stuff for my mom for Christmas, too.
