Geckoace - love the idea of empty picture frames just waiting for inspiration!!
Polly - I sure hope that you enjoyed just throwing your son's stuff into his room - repeat as necessary!!
As for what I got done today for the holidays - well I still have four hours!! ;)

Here's the rest
~Scrubbed down recycle bins
~Reswiffered the kitchen and living room. Where's all this dirt come from?
~Put the 25 egg cartons from the top of my fridge, and two paper cartons on the porch for paper drive.
~Cleaned up a BIG FAT mess I found hidden beside the dry sink. DANG MICE!!
~Recleaned the kitchen counters I deep cleaned yesterday. Dang Kid! You know the detailing? Okay, maybe some of you don't. I have counter tops installed 1950. They are metal edged and run up the side of the wall part way. Every crumb and bit of dirt gets into the crevices. To deep clean you must wrap a cloth around a knife and dig it out, and then scrub with a tooth brush. Spray down with bleach, it takes forever.
~Rinsed out 6 wine glasses to put in the china cabinet.
~Before I go to bed, I'll wash down 1/8 more of the bathroom walls.
Maui, I've gotten to that place. I'll be repeating as necessary. *snort*

Today I will be cleaning the kitchen cabinets and mopping the floor before I decorate the kitchen and I will vacuum the livingroom and hallway and stairs and loft too! Then do more decorating too. Dh doesn't want to put up the tree yet until Dec 1st. ):

My INTENT today is to bring down the rest of the Christmas tree. It is difficult to get anything done with the tidal flow of puppies I have at my feet during the day, but I am going to try to time it for when they decide to take a nap!

I can just imagine their excitement when you put up the tree madhen!

It is going to be in the livingroom, which is blocked by a baby gate!! I don't want to have a puppy-pee-smelling tree for Christmas!!! :)

Ok, to keep myself accountable to the cleaning of my house and getting it ready for the 20+ people that will be coming over for Christmas, I decided to post pictures of the areas in my house that will be occupied the most on that day as I get them cleaned and ready.
So far, here are pictures of my dining area with 2 pictures of my dining table. Then there is a picture of the console table in the entryway. Last is the counter in between the dining area and kitchen.(Boy does that usually stay cluttered) I really can't stand the clutter. The more simple and uncluttered the better.
Next pictures will be of my kitchen. The front entryway, kitchen and dining area all are connected and open to each other. So these rooms HAVE to be the best they can be. Better Homes and Gardens it is not, but I like it.

I purchased more gifts yesterday. Had to buy more cards as I didn't have enough, FV cards are ready to be mailed. Cleaned out the refrigerator and did generally cleaning today. I also finalized the menu for the tour of homes and made the grocery list.

Very nice, Labontet, although your Christmas geese appear to be looking nervously at your wolf photo. ;)

Brought more items from the living areas into the basement playroom and unrolled the new carpet for the living room that was delivered today. The room finally looks finished.
Christmas aside, I have another reason for getting the house in shape for the season...I offered to host 60 people from school (who teach in my house section) for a holiday party on December 12th. So, my timeline has shrunk a bit!
