Plants are transplanted into the pots. Next up, seeds. This is turning out better than I thought. I need a few more trellises, but I think I know where to get them. A friend scouted some out for me last week. I'll swing by today and see if they have any left.

Awesome, Peanut! I have hot pink vinca, green and pink coleus, and lime green sweet potato vine that need to go in my deck boxes today. My pansies are long kaput and it's time for hot weather plants.
Bought paint for the sitting room - Mother Nature by Behr (sage green). DH and I are on a mini road trip to the next town over to look at some furniture I can paint for a bedroom - update on that later.

Sounds like a lovely combo for the deck MyMel. DH and I are dividing a bed of hostas today, and weeding at the same time. Our patio garden is all planted. We are in serious weeding mode.
I won 2 girls to help clean the house and weed the garden at an auction of our church youth. Tomorrow one of them is coming over to help out. If it rains, we'll be inside. If it's sunny, we'll be outside. I so like feeling well enough to do this work, even if I'm not totally physically fit. My back is my weak spot.

I got the sitting room painted sage green yesterday. The color is "Mother Nature," by Behr.

Two more flower beds weeded. Hosta gone, some delphinium and lily of the valley gone.
Sunroom cleaned from top to bottom, except polishing woodwork. And I'm waiting for the curtains to dry to hang them back up. Stairs cleaned too. Nice.
Think I'll spend the rest of the day doing yardwork.

MyMel, sage green is one of my fav colours. I was originally a blue girl, but over the years I've come to appreciate green. Well, certain types of green.
I've been busy hemming curtains for the sunroom. I washed and shrank them. Now they're set to hang again.
It's been raining here, so no gardening, but lots of dreaming. DH would like to get the windows replaced on the house. Big bucks. But we may do it a bit at a time. Got to sock away some money for it. First job is to get the fence replaced. We're waiting on the neighbor to remove a shed in the back that is over on our property. He's arranged for someone to come pick it up, but they haven't showed yet. We'll see...not sure how it's going to get out of the yard though. It was built in the yard and is too big to go out through the gates of either yard. Hmmm...could be interesting.

I admire the work you ladies are getting done! Today's project for us is to reclaim the office. The "office" is really a small bedroom just packed with stuff that I'm supposed to have access to as a home office. In truth, it's been easy for us to put off organizing it because it's also the only place for the cat's litterbox, so staying away and letting the cat take it over has its appeal. But it's got to be a functional space. I'm tired of not having any space to work in. My job will be tossing trash and reorganizing storage, and DH's job will be to slim our collection of derelict computer parts down in there. There's a closet that DH has stuffed with role playing card games that he never looks at, but I don't have the energy to fight that fight today. I just want to be able to do my work in there this upcoming week.

I need to create a plan to prepare for company this week. We'll see. Need to work on a deep clean of living room, dining room and kitchen.

We *rocked* the office declutter - I'm so proud of DH for getting rid of so many things! It still needs some organization and cleaning, but it's much better than it was. I'm working on some kitchen decluttering tonight and listing a few items on eBay. I'm trying the FlyLady plan, though I've been a little slow with the Baby Steps. It's helping a lot though; the kitchen is almost always clean now even though I'm cooking consistently. That in itself is a major improvement.

Peanut, I like to have a little green in every room of the house!
I got the middle bedroom painted "Renoir Beige" by Behr over the weekend. It needs a few touchups but otherwise lookin' good. June's goal: prime and paint craft room yellow.
Nice Job MyMel! Love the pics. The laundry room lettering is a nice touch. It looks like you have a bit more colour sense than the previous owners. :) Like your wall colour choices and decor. Wish I could get my place looking so neat! Need to sit down and come up with a plan... Basically it's called get rid of stuff. I have too much stuff.

Thanks Peanut! I love picking paint colors and this house's walls have needed lots of brightening. I am a major fan of getting rid of stuff - physical clutter stresses me and I would rather bless someone else with the stuff. It does take a mindset and time but it's worth it.

I got the baseboards and doors taped off in the craft room. Need to take a pry bar to the brackets holding up a shelf over one of the windows, fill holes, and sand. Then ready for primer maybe one day this weekend.

Got the carpet ripped out of my living room, but haven't decided yet where I want to go from here, so that project is on hold.
My project, to the end of June, is to set up my kitchen to make it a little more conducive to preparing raw vegan food, which I find I am becoming a little obsessed about. :) I got a Vitamix blender for my birthday (woo hoo!!!), so I want to have a prep area with my juicer and my blender, so I can easily prepare (and more importantly, clean up after) my daily green juices and smoothies. I have a counter in mind, but it is currently the counter I use to store all the pet supplies on, so some reshuffling is in order in order to get some order <g>.
06-18-2012, 08:15 PM
Awesome, madhen! Glad you got that carpet out and hope you find a way to set up your juice prep area!
I got the wall shelf down today and spackled the holes. If all factors hold true, I can prime and paint this weekend. Got some paint chips to inspire me.
06-23-2012, 09:39 PM
I primed the craft room (yay!) but after cutting in the yellow paint, I see it's gonna take 2 coats (boo!).
07-01-2012, 02:11 PM
Since I am trying to be ultra-frugal this month, my challenge is going to be the general de-cluttering of my house. Today's project is the laundry room.
07-04-2012, 08:43 PM
I got one coat of paint on the craft room walls. July's goal will be applying a second coat and hanging the curtain rods.
08-21-2012, 11:15 AM
Wow, this thread is quiet! Here is my progress:
- craft room completely painted
- curtain rods and valances hung in craft room
- bought 9 baskets at Dollar Tree to add to shelves I already had for cubbies to store craft supplies
- recovered one window shade with green fabric and one to go; need flat trim for scalloped edge
- hung 2 pictures downstairs
- put a wreath in the bathroom
- made seashell art for bathroom
- repurposed a candle topper and base to hold cotton balls for bathroom by using a Goodwill vase in the middle
- ordered a ceiling fan on sale for one bedroom, picked out ceiling fans for other rooms to buy later

Way to go MyMel! I'm on vacation right now, so no time to do anything or way to do it. :) Will get back at it when I arrive home.
08-25-2012, 12:57 PM
We just returned from vacation a few weeks ago, peanut!
Today I will be helping DH with replacing ceiling fans. We've got rain on the forecast, so I am not sure if the shelf will get repainted this weekend.
08-26-2012, 04:15 AM
I'm home now, but my week ahead is a zoo! No time for home organizational projects. :( Will get back to them after we pay off vacation. :)
