I am totally in for this challenge in 2012, too! Let me think of what I want to accomplish in January -- I am thinking an indoor project also, due to weather.

My January goal is to (with much help from DH, DS and DD) to re-sand, re-stain, polyurethane and buff our kitchen cabinets and get the handles on. These are "new"and have never been finished hence the re-sanding & re-staining. DH and DS built them about 3 years ago. I have on my Jan. town list a gallon of polyurethane. DH and DS and agreed to do it so I'm praying!

I am jumping in on this one....in January I need to go through my kitchen. I have one set of cabinets that seem to be a catch all and I am tired of it... can't find anything in there!

My project for January will be finishing the banners for my church.
I have gotten the Presbyterian logo sewn on to one of them. I will need to put a back on the banner and get a dowel to hang it with. Then the cording, etc to finish it. I will then start assembling the second one with the cross, shaft of wheat, grapes and shell. It will be finished off like the first one. This has been a MAJOR project that should have been done last year. I feel so bad about not getting it done. These things are really labor intensive.
February will be used for cleaning out our clothes closets. Too many old clothes, shoes etc that need to be purged. -

I'm in, but mine will be a bit different than most I'm guessing. Parker and I are moving to North Carolina soon (if all goes well) and my January goal is to weed through the things that belong to him and I, and make an exact list of exactly what is going and what will stay.
The rest of the year this will be extremely important as I'll be a single mom and will have to be very frugal and creative to make things happen. A lot of craigslisting will happen, as well as receiving things from friends in NC, so I bet a lot of projects will be happening. -

I'm so sorry to hear this, AP. I didn't realize you were having problems.

I like the idea of 12 months = 12 projects since it is the small things that eventually finish the larger project.
For January 2012 - my goal is to organize and clean out the closet in my office. It is a general catch all of clothing, linens, coats, blankets, games etc and I can never find anything in it. This task is much larger than it sounds since things fall out when I open the door....OPPS! -

I'm in. For January, I want to replace the flooring in my back entry and refinish three stair steps from the entry to the hall. For the organizational part of it, I'll sort through the catch-all shelves by the back door. I think I'll get a little head start and remove the old adhesive on the stairs tomorrow.

I'm in...for January I would like to finish the extra room attached to DD's bedroom....an area over the garage. We want to finish the insulation, flooring and walls. Than paint and make her a wonderful girlie hang out area. Oh, I could post pictures as we go along...I think I will get hubby started on this Tuesday when we get back in town....we may not get it completely finished in january, but at least we would be trying to finish a goal. When I am not helping hubby with that project, I think i will go thru the attic and purge stuff that has been up there for the year without being used.
Thanks for getting us started on 2012 projects. -
