Okay both bedrooms have been painted in anti-mould paint after being treated with anti-mould cleaning stuff, so everything looks much better if a bit messy

By the end of January I hope to have decorated our bedroom and I'll move on to sorting out the spare bedroom in February. I have taken 'before' photos so hopefully it'll all look pretty decent when it's done

Ohhhh I want in too! My house isn't THAT bad....but there is always something that needs to be done! So lets see.....For January......I am going to sort, purge, shred, my way through my filing cabinet in my living room.....it, or should I say what should be it's contents are slowly taking over an entire corner.....so I will do that! Thanks for the jumpstart and a more organized new year!

So much to do..... so little time....

I've always wanted a walk in closet.... never have had one. But my closet that I do have is a mess. I'm a pretty organized person who has a secret closet life and it isn't a pretty sight. Not sure I could be trusted with a walk in.....

Anyway, that is my project for next year. I need to start by purging, and then figuring out a way to organize it on a dime. And then convincing myself to actually keep up with the system.

Well, a friend put up another set of shelves for me in my basement. I'm going to use that area for Christmas stuff. I'll probably have some room left over, will have to see. It's a start!

I'm holding off doing anything until the puppies head back to the county on Tuesday. Until then, everything I do takes about three times the effort, with eight dogs in the house!!

    Or seven.

I have to admit, one of them MIGHT not be heading to the county. I have fallen madly in love with Angus, a little longhaired dachshund-looking boy. My vet says he has an "old soul." He is totally mellow and follows me around like a little echo. I have written bio's for all the other puppies, so potential adopters can read about the pups and decide who is the best fit, and I can't bring myself to write one for Angus.

awww PUPPIES!!!!! I agree puppies are just too hard to let go of!

I got a good start on my kitchen, emptied out my 3 junk drawers and repurposed 2 of them, I need to get some organizer baskets for the one that will remain a junk drawer. Reorganized my tupperware containers in one of those drawers and started cleaning out the fridge, will finish that tomorrow. Also took down all the christmas decore and washed the christmas table linens to be packed back in the attic tomorrow.

I finally got the last comforter from the camper washed for the season. Took me long enough. I washed the Christmas tablecloth and got that put away too, and cut down a new tablecloth so it fits the table, so we have a nice blue cloth on the table now that changes the whole personality of the kitchen.

I stood and stared at my closet today.... sigh. If any of you have any ideas about how to organize a small closet on a dime, please chime in. I have a dresser in there, but that doesn't leave much room for hanging items.

Sounds like Angus has picked you, madhen I spent an embarrassing amount of time looking up Yorkshire Terriers and kittens on YouTube yesterday

Haven't picked what curtains I'd like for the bedroom yet, so I'm going to have another look through some online sites today.

As far as I am concerned, Angus has found the BEST home. Congrats madhen!

    Smart puppy that Angus!!

Debbie- does DH know about your plans for decluttering His stuff?

My major plan for January is to get all of my crafting stuff out of our LR and organized into my craft/sewing room. The major problem is that DH helpfully .... reorganized my sewing room and boxed it all up - yada, yada - so there is no place to put anything. Need a plan to make this all work successfully. DH is coming home this coming Wednesday evening and I would like as much as possible out of the LR.

Plan - go through the plastic bins in the craft room with labels such as - batting, pillows, etc. Put all of these items in space saver bags to store them more purposely and in a smaller space. Reuse the plastic bins to store the crafting materials in the LR - making sure to LABEL each bin. Going to need some help with the physicalness of this all. love having a plan!!
