DH just told me that he's afraid there'll be nothing left when he gets back tomorrow, LOL.

    *22 old/broken toys from DS#1.
*34 pieces of clothing bagged up for MSAA pickup on Monday.
*13 things from my makeup/skin care drawer.

~So this morning I was thinking about how I counted what came IN last year in the 2011 Fling thread. As a family, we added 3 items a day to our stuff, everything from kitchen gadgets, clothes, toys and tools. Even with all the flinging that happened(3939 for the year!), that IN number really scared me. So I wanted to do better on that this year.
So far in 2012, we've brought in about 50 items a month, or 2 a day. Not seeing our parents for a while is an influence on that number. As much as we like free stuff and gifts for the kids, they can really add up with doting grandparents.
I have less than 300 more items to fling to reach the challenge goal for the year. I think I'll be able to get near 4000 items gone this year too. It's incredible. We really don't have that much but I am determined to simplify to the very basics. All our stuff filled only 1/3 of the moving truck and less than a two car garage after last year's near 4000 item flinging. And since moving boxes are 50% packing paper and we moved into a large home, the amount of stuff we have looks like even less. I love it!
We will be moving again soon enough when we find a house to buy. We'll hire folks to move the big furniture pieces but everything else will be on us so less is best!
I really need to get busy on scanning and purging paperwork. I've been really busy with homeschooling.~

*8 credit cards - all expired (from a lost but later found wallet)
*68 clothing items to the trash
    *31 clothing items to donate

DH has been losing a lot of weight this year and tonight we went through his clothes again (already took 2 trash bags full of his old clothes to SA last week) so I actually explained this challenge to him tonight while I was counting his clothing items. It's nice to have someone else on board. I can't believe how much of his old clothing we actually had - he has the smaller closet, and it's hard to believe that this many things can be piled in there. I'm planning on doing my own closet purge in early August - I have to finish losing the baby weight, and once I go back to work I'm going to get rid of a lot of the ratty house clothes I'm wearing now.

My DH helped me attack the house this week while he was on vacation from work. I have been slowly working on it myself, but sometimes I need his permission to trash something and sometimes I need a gentle nudge from him to get rid of my junk. We filled at least 3 trash cans and 8 boxes of junk. The house is cleaner, more organized, and we have more room!~!!

*Broken crib. I had been agonizing how to get rid of this, and found out this week that if I just put it beside the trash can, the trash company will pick it up. Who knew? I had been staring at it for over a year and it was that easy to get rid of all this time!
*Two bottles - shampoo and conditioner - that I didn't like.
*6 DVD's that we repurchased from iTunes
*Lots of expired food from the fridge/pantry
    *old puzzle

I love this challenge. I just count things as I pitch/recycle/donate them. I "budget" myself about 170 things per month to purge and mark it on my dry-erase calendar. When something is pitched, I just add the items to my count. My kids' school is having a rummage sale and drop-off begins this week! Oh, my heart is singing with happiness! I will be ahead of the game soon

I still don't know how to update my signature since the last change! I played with it for a while, but I have my numbers stored on a notebook for myself!

I went through the office today and organized paperwork and shredded three kitchen garbage bags worth. It was so nice to see all of that stuff go. Right to the recycle bin it went as we ran some errands this morning. Now, off to finish what I started and file the rest.

Tomorrow I am taking a large haul to the rummage sale. I can't wait!

*Cleaned out DS#1's toys. Junky McDonalds prizes, ripped books, etc. Probably 20 things.
*Old stained mattress pad (bought a new one)
*about 50 plastic bags. I must have had 100 in my stash, will never use them all.
*Box of receipts I don't need
    *2 matchbox cars
