~Ok, I need to get serious. I boxed up two huge boxes of unused/broken/outgrown/whatever items from the kids' rooms last night. Now I just have to sort what will be sewing/donate/storage.
To make my goal, I need to get rid of 750 items in 17 days(44 daily). Time to get busy!~

I'm aiming for 3,000 items by the end of the year, but I don't know if we'll make it. I think my husband has some books sorted out, so maybe...

I need to get into my sewing room but I'm currently obsessing over a latch hook rug kit I just bought, so all my time is going into that project. Of course, once that's hooked, I'll have to unearth the sewing machine to bind it and finish it.

~I was aiming for 3000 also, SD:2012 in the yearly Fling and 1000 for this one. If I would just tackle the paperwork I'd be there pretty fast. I have three totes of financials, art and sketches, not many of which have any significance or sentiment attached. It is just so hard to find anywhere to sort it all with kids always around mucking up my system. I hate doing any work stuff in the bedroom since I keep that as a sanctuary from everything but that's the only place I can think of where I can sort in bits of time, leave things out and lock the door. ~

~I sorted through a box and culled enough to half fill a donation bag and trash bag. 25 out. ~

I've been making a last push this week. Got rid of a few more kids broken toys and bits and ends thrown out.
I did throw out/ donate some xmas decor that we just dont use. And use up some craft supplies making things with dd.

I started a mini-challenge for myself for the rest of the month. I'm sorting two boxes per day from our back bedroom, which is a disaster. All the stuff that normally would go into a basement ends up there and it's packed full of this, that, odds, ends, and junk. So I'm going through that slowly. Four boxes so far, some stuff sorted to donate but not added into the count yet, but small progress nonetheless.

I'm feeling pretty good about everything I flung this year. We donated approximately five bins of clothes to the Jersey Shore and an enormous bin of books to a library in Staten Island that got wiped out. We also donated a ton of gently used toys and a big trash bag full of old coats. Always working on the little stuff, but feeling good about the big ones!

I'm failing miserably at sorting two boxes per day. So far, only ten done. But we did get rid of 85 more items to GW today.

Oh, yeah, I also dumped an old lava lamp. But I saved the lamp parts to re-use in a ceramic Christmas tree I'm hoping to have painted by the end of next year. I'm still going to count the demise of the lamp as one out.
