    Homemade salsa...................sounds yummy!

    I did some today, not as much as I had hoped but am plugging along.

    Wiped all kitchen cabinets, inside and out
    Washed out wastebasket
    Cleaned 3 kitchen light fixtures
    Wiped out stove drawer
    Scrubbed microwave vents

    Way to go Rabbit!

    Yeah, DH is the Salsa-Canner (I do everything else). He's always tweaking his recipe. He can't quite get it hot enough to suit his taste buds. I can handle some pretty good heat but he likes "melt your face off heat" so I steer clear and let him do his thing especially since he started growing Ghost Chili's this year (aka the hottest pepper in the world!)

    Got quite a bit done today but not as much as I would have hoped.

    Remaining in the Pantry/Laundry Room:

    Shake Rug (I'll wash it when I have another rug to throw in with it)
    Polish All-Clad
    *Skillets
    *Back Row
    *Middle Row
    *Front Row

    (Polishing the cookware is something I'll do once the rest of the house is done. If I can't get them all done at the same time at least I can do a few pieces at a time.)

    Remaining in the Kitchen:

    Polish Knives (*I'll do this when I do the cookware)
    Scrub Gel Mat
    Shake Cloth Rug
    Sweep
    Mop
    DH – Sharpen Knives
    DH – Blinds
    DH – Window
    DH – Light Fixtures
    DH - Replace light bulb

    Remaining in the Dining Room:

    Sweep
    Mop
    DH – Blinds
    DH – Windows
    DH – Light Fixtures
    DH – Examine Spot Near A/C Vent

    I need to shop for Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow but hope to get started on at least one wall of the Living Room tomorrow when I get home:

    Dust
    Windex Pictures
    Febreeze Cushions
    Rotate Cushions
    Vacuum Cushions

    Wipe CD’s
    Wipe Door
    Wipe Screen Door
    Wipe A/C Intake
    Wash Stuff on Antique Table
    Wash Stuff on Shelves
    Wash Stuff on Walls
    Wipe Walls

    DH - Blow out Tower Fan with compressor
    DH – Blinds
    DH – Windows
    DH – Picture Above Entertainment Center
    DH – Ceiling Fan
    DH – Light Fixtures
    DH – Steam Clean Furniture

    Even though I'm a little behind the challenge, I'd love to join in. Below is a list of everything I'd like to do, from my list for today and tomorrow, cleaning each room, and some miscellaneous tasks I'd like to complete. I'd love to get these done in the next two weeks so that I can focus on holiday decorating/shopping/etc., but only time will tell. I'm starting today, in an hour, with throwing dinner (Pork Tenderloin with Applesauce) into the crockpot for 4 hours, then working on laundry (at least 6 loads to do) and cleaning the guest bathroom and living room. Tomorrow, I work from 5 am to 10 am morning stock crew for a retail store, then some errands and coming home to pack and pick up the cat as we (cat and DH and I) are traveling to my in-laws for a few days. They only live an hour away on an island, but it will take a while to pack everything we need.

    Today (12/20/12): put dinner in crockpot; start laundry and keep going until bedtime (8:30 pm PST); pay bills; clean litter box; put away misc. items in guest bathroom; clean guest bathroom floor; work on living room list below:

    Living Room: clean couch area; clean in front of couch; clean coffee table; clean in front of coffee table floor; clean brown chair; find/return/pay fine for library books; swiffer/sweep entry way/bathroom/living room; lay out new rug/carpet;

    Kitchen: clean kitchen floor; clean kitchen left side; clean kitchen right side; clean fridge; clean stove;

    Dining Room: clean cat eating area; clean table; clean buffet; organize B’s bookshelf; organize my bookshelf; organize boxes near my bookshelf;

    Misc. Rooms: clean master bathroom; sweep/mop all floors; take down fall decorations (to prep for Christmas decorations this weekend); clean hall closets (coat closet and laundry closet - we are in a small apartment);

    Master Bedroom: clean in front of bed; clean underneath bed; clean near window; clean B’s side; clean out totes; clean closet; declutter jewelry box; set up cabinet;

    Guest Bedroom: clean in front of bed; make top of bed; clean floor; clean desktop; clean cabinet; clean in front of cabinet; clean closet;

    Misc. Chores: vacuum all bedrooms; clean out my purse; clean out both cars; clean and organize storage area with DH; go through all paperwork; shred paperwork; buy file box for personal files; backup my computer; wash all couch throw blankets; wash guest room sheets; wash coats; organize books/DVDs/CDs/comp games; clean all blinds/lights/ceiling fans; organize Legos into one area;

    Well, haven't worked at all on my deep cleaning since Sunday. It just is too hard to fit it in my day when I work. I do plan on doing something (no matter how small) tomorrow before we leave for my moms at 11:30. I have got to get going on this if I want to start decorating next week for Christmas.

    What I have left to do.

    Kitchen -
    clean pantry
    clean top of cabinets and wash all deco items
    clean light fixture over table
    doorwall, tracks, wash blinds
    wash table and chairs with Murphys Oil Soap

    Livingroom -
    clean fan
    wash blinds
    wash bricks around wood stove
    wipe down floor lamp
    windex picture
    vacuum top of entertainment center
    vacuum behind couch

    MADH - never heard of Ghost Chili but it sounds too hot for me too!

    AliciaKnits - I like your dinner idea of pork tenderloin and applesauce, let me know how it came out.

    washed blinds
    cleaned floor lamp
    windex picture

    LOL Rabbit! I know exactly what you mean. It doesn't matter how often I clean or *not* clean...all those little nooks and crannies are always the same and the tops of the kitchen cabinets always baffle me. I don't understand how so much sticky crud can find it's way all the way up there.

    I must be getting too old for this. This is turning in to a lifetime project but now that all the Thanksgiving prep/cooking/eating is over I'm still plugging along.

    I'm about half way through with the living room but can't mark much off my list because I'm making my way around the room. Hope to be done tomorrow and moving on to another room.

    DH emptied the shed today and got our hurricane panels put away. We pulled them out last spring because he was headed out of town for several months and I needed easy access to them. Now they are back in place and we went through the Christmas stuff while it was all out figuring out what we were going to use this year. We decided to go easy this year and keep things simple. He's still got a few outside things to do but I'm hoping to wrangle him inside at some point this weekend to finish up the things he normally does.

    Remaining in the Pantry/Laundry Room:

    Shake Rug (I'll wash it when I have another rug to throw in with it)

    I ended up cleaning the foyer yesterday, except for the closet. Last night I was bored so I put up the Christmas decorations and tree. DH had to wire it to the register cover, which is how we "cat proof" our tree. This morning I finished decoratiing the tree and cleaned the pantry and foyer closet. So now I am done with half of the house.

    I decided to keep going as long as I'm motivated, so will begin DH's bathroom and the hallway closet next.

    When DH and I moved the sectional in the livingroom yesterday so I could vacuum under and behind it, we found my dog Kikka's kong under there. No big deal except that Kikka died 2 years ago! So apparently the sectional has not been moved for at least 2 years. It's a pain to move because each piece is connected to the next with metal prongs that fit into holes in the next piece. It's a pain but still................2 years?

    Saturday we had more tomatoes come in from the garden so DH wanted to try making homemade enchilada sauce. It was...how do I say this...EPIC, lol!! As in he once again took over the entire kitchen, half the dining room and it took him HOURS and HOURS to do it, all for a four measly pints. After the moans, groans and a dozen "I will NEVER do THIS again!!", I went in to stealth mode and camped out in the office and played on the computer all day. Sunday was unusually cold for us (even had to turn on the heater) and I felt more like hibernating than cleaning so we both took the day "off". There's some clutter that needs to be tended to today and I'm going to need to wipe down the cabinets and stove again. It's not as cold today so hopefully I can get motivated again and get back on track.

    geckoace - your moving right along!

    MADH - It was cold yesterday here too but we had snow. I too felt like hibernating and didn't get anything done.

    I worked today but did manage to get the hallway closet done. Not much to it. Nothing will get done tomorrow since Tueday is my long day with work, helping out at my parents and then volunteering with Awanas.
