gecko - I'm at that point now too. Things just need to leave the house but we live in our basement so I'm thankful that there's not a whole lot stored here in terms of junk.

Basements. Known as the place where things go to be forgotten about and die.

Made some progress this weekend although I would have hoped for more. We've been trying to keep the air off but it's been warm and muggy for the past week and I haven't been sleeping well at all. I'm also a terrible sleeper and yesterday I crashed and burned. DH spent most of Saturday working in the yard and garden and I did as little as possible. Late last night I caved, after tossing and turning for hours, so we shut the house back up and turned the A/C back on. Today we got a late start but got back on the wagon. And the A/C is back off again...but will probably go back on at bedtime. Typical Florida "winter".

    Remaining in the Pantry/Laundry Room:
    Polish All-Clad
    *Skillets
    *Back Row
    *Middle Row
    *Front Row
(Polishing the cookware is something I'll do once the rest of the house is done. If I can't get them all done at the same time at least I can do a few pieces at a time.)

    Remaining in the Kitchen:
Polish Knives (*I'll do this when I do the cookware)
    Scrub Gel Mat
    Sweep
    Mop
    DH – Sharpen Knives
    DH – Light Fixtures
    DH - Replace light bulb

    Remaining in the Dining Room:
    Sweep
    Mop
    DH – Light Fixtures

    Remaining in Living Room
Sweep (I did one pass over but it will need another when the floors get mopped)
    Mop
DH – Picture Above Entertainment Center
    DH – Ceiling Fan
    DH – Light Fixtures
    DH – Steam Clean Furniture

    Remaining in Hallway
    Mop

    Remaining in Bathrooms
    Scrub Floor
    DH – Light Fixtures

    Remaining in Master Bedroom
    Wash Dust Ruffle
    Iron Dust Ruffle
    Wash Hamper Liners
    Sweep Floor
    Sweep Under Bed
    Inventory Under Bed Storage
    Mop
    DH – Ceiling Fans
    DH – Light Fixtures
    DH – Dresser Mirror

ETA: I had to laugh at Gecko's post about flower vases. Neither DH nor I are "collectors". Our house is small, no basement, and pretty much anything that comes in finds a home or it can't stay. BUT...there was a time when I would save those big florist vases. I must have had a dozen or more. For WHAT?! LOL!!

I'm moving right along here. This week I spent Monday returning purchases that were not right, dropping things o goodwill and retuning things that belong to other people. All of the stuff I sorted out the ther day.

    Today I'm hoping to:
    DR
get that dining room shade down and see if it can be cleaned.
    LR
Need to put up some command hooks for winter hats and such.
    BATHROOM
Our exhaust is not working so there s a bit of mildew. Gonna handle that.
    BASEMENT
    Get gifts in basement organized.

Washed my floors, cut up more clothes for repurposing and have only 1 more day of it and the pile is GONE from my stair railing!!! I now hear an echo in the stairwell!
Stored a few other things in closets; moved a bothersome pantry closet door-knob that kept falling off to a different closet door that is rarely opened. Sorted hankies and place-mats, some to garbage, some made into dust-masks.
Sorted desk stuff. Sorted some cardboard pieces, made some into sewing templates for cloth gift-bags (cut up lots of these when I cut up clothing for rug strips).

Feeling Good about all of this!

gecko - I hope the ornaments were not meant for gifts! I too didn't realize how dirty my light fixtures were until I cleaned them. My rooms seem alot brighter now.

Incognito - WTG! I bet your feeling good!

Have not got any extras done the past few days, too many other things eating up my time. Hopefully Saturday I will have something to report. I only have 2 rooms left, I don't want to loose my momentum.

I got distracted with a new project earlier this week then came down terribly sick yesterday. Feeling better but taking it easy today. I *have* been keeping things tidy and shiny and hope to finish up a few things this weekend.

    Getting back on track.

I thought DH did the floors this weekend. Well, I don't know who's floors he did but it certainly wasn't ours. I didn't say anything to him because he was already ticked over our garden (we lost all our cucumber plants that were starting to go gang-busters, most of our tomatoes and the peas are never going to fruit...it's a never ending battle with the bugs here) so I let it go. I didn't even bother bringing up the fans and light fixtures *again*. He knows they needed to be done but I figured at this point it would be just as easy to do them myself. So, this morning I got a little passive-aggressive with him and asked him to dig out his step ladder which is much safer than mine. I got the "deer in the headlights" look that quickly turned in to a furled brow. Whatever. So first thing this morning I went back over the entire house, scrubbing, dusting, windexing, shaking rugs then I went back and re-swept the entire house, mopped all the floors again and got on my hands and scrubbed all the little "boogers" that were here and there. Then I got on the ladder and got all the light fixtures and ceiling fans done, except in our office and spare room.

So I'm slowly pulling some of the older things from the list...

    Remaining in Master Bedroom
    Wash Dust Ruffle
    Iron Dust Ruffle
    Wash Hamper Liners
    Sweep Under Bed
    Inventory Under Bed Storage

Tomorrow I want to finish up in the master bedroom and get started on my absolute least favorite room in the entire house...our office.

Apparently I still had a little juice left in me. After I posted I stripped the dust ruffle off the bed, threw it in the wash and got under the bed. Everything is cleaned and condensed and the dust ruffle is in the dryer. A few more things off my list. I'll iron the ruffle tomorrow and get started in the office. UGH!
