Holy Cow, MM, where ya been!?!? Oh wait, you live in paradise and have better things to do than sit at the computer... nevermind!

    Today I:
entered some coke points that were piling up
took the girls to Staples to hit this week's sales and buy their backpacks (ugg)
Entered the rebates right away so they won't get lost
And froze the rest of the carrots from the party... they can get roasted or whatever at a later time.
Yep, coke points and carrots, that's all I had in me today!!! Oh, and I deposited the check they gave for the party cost reimbursement into my savings

    Tomorrow:
    Dr Appt for me. Ugg
Dr Appt for DD9- Double ugg!
    Check the MCR Wednesday deal.
That's as much as I can commit to.

Well, I did both the Dr appts and checked my coke rewards. so that's 3/3, granted, the MCR is a gimme, but those Dr appts kill me, and two in the same day??? Never again. Oh, and I started a load of laundry today... just so I could say I'd done SOMETHING useful.

    Tomorrow-
    -run a little more laundry
    -put some away
    -upstairs bathroom

I can recall being very busy the last few days, but not what I was actually busy at or what I accomplished (weekend amnesia)

Today my plans are to take the kids to DC:
    - visit the National Aquarium (about to close permanently and we've never been)
    - visit the zoo
    - straighten some around the house (deliberately vague)

I just have to escape from under this gravity bubble holding me down into my comfy "nest" chair... man I'd love to just sleep the day away, but I promised the kids... It will be fun...

    vaccum
    empty dishwasher

the rest of the weekend I am going to do whatever I want to,, we will see what happens, if I sit on my rear-end or if I actually do something..

Zhoen , it would be nice to have places to go like you have, kids started school here this last thurs. so everything is real quiet now. I dadn't know thre aquarium was shutting down, but its not like I can go to it anyway. Hope you have a great time! ( can you ship me about 100 lbs of hambuger?)

ilovechoc. hope you had a sucessful garage sale!

[QUOTE( can you ship me about 100 lbs of hambuger?) [/QUOTE]

Teehee, saw that on the other thread, didja? Yeah, I was amazed when I saw that price, a whole rack of it with a sign... don't know what the deal was, something they had to clear out quickly for whatever reason, packed the 16th, sell by the 17th... yeah, at that price, not a problem!

It's nice having all kinds of things to do in the area. We have a membership to the aquarium in Baltimore, and they are the ones that sent the email saying the DC location is closing this fall... so I'm glad we got to see it once before it did. Even gladder that it was free with our other membership! ;D

So we did go to DC yesterday, and checked DC aquarium, DC zoo, and "picnic" off our summer must-do list. It was more walking than I'd hoped, only because both locations were several blocks from the metros. But this was our first time going without any kind of wagon or stroller (at least in the last 10 years) and while I felt the pain of all those families waiting in line for the elevators and grunting their way up the hills, the much-walking was balanced out by not pulling or pushing some kind of kid-filled contraption, so that was really nice!

    But I didn't clean.

    Today:
-do all the dishes and put away
-do all the laundry (mostly clean already) sort and put away
-sort and cull all the shoes, return appropriate sizes to appropriate child
    - visit Staples for final school run
    - take girls shopping for one new school outfit, and while out hit the thrifts

Sounds like a really fun day, honestly. It's a good feeling when you can say "yep, all done, we're ready!" (school starts here on the 26th)

    got sat all done

    now for my day off,
pulled all the carrots, did 7 jars of pickled, freezing the rest, will replant here soon
cleaned up my huge mess in the kitchen
    made huge pan of lasgana
washed a mess of throw rugs
drank coffee on the deck while it was cool, and played with the boys

now going to sit out on the deck, cloud cover moved in, I'm gonna relax for a bit, if I can remember how!

I think everyone saw that hambuger, man you are lucky to find that!! Sounds like you and the family had a great time! I haven't been any further east than indy, maybe someday I will make it back that way.

    OM you ok?

Well, we got the shoes sorted out and threw away more than I'd've liked (missing mates and such). A few pairs too small for DD6 are going to charity. But at least they're sorted and put away and I know what they do and don't have.

And we did get the last two journals and 4 folders on our list-- took three danged stores to do it! I'm so glad we weren't just starting like all those families wandering through the wasteland of the back-to-school section of Target and Staples (I'm sure Walmart is no better). We finally found what we needed at Office Depot-- they have a terrible location, rotten prices, and not enough parking... BUT that meant that they still had plenty of everything! Done!

Ran some dishes and put some away, same with laundry, but not to the degree that I wanted... I just didn't have the energy

...and the kids were being so rotten that we ended up not even going to the mall... the lesson was only half-learned, though, as we got a bag of freecycle clothes with several nice new-to-them things anyway... But on the upside, that's a bunch of money I didn't spend at the mall on new outfits.

    Tomorrow:
    gym
    more laundry
    pick up around the house
