I've been trying to do the 15 minutes thing over the holiday period, but it doesn't always happen. Yesterday, we were at MyLovelyMan's mother's, so I wasn't here to do anything -but we did help wash and put away the dishes after the meal and that probably took more than 15 minutes.

Today, we've been out and about with visiting family: this included a meal out at lunchtime; so again, nothing got done. Then I found a note I'd placed in my Home Management File a while ago, entitled "When I've not been home and things aren't getting done . . . Just 15 minutes on . . . " and a short list of things to do.

So I decluttered the kitchen counter of paperwork: cleared away the clutter of clean dishes from the draining board; shook out the kitchen rugs and swept the floor; same in the hallway.

When I write it down, here, it seems quite an achievement, but in fact I don't think of it as much, at all. I feel I am letting things get out of hand.

I promise myself that tomorrow I will just do my 15 minutes, as planned: it's recycling and compost and clear out the household rubbish day, which is always a necessity. Tomorrow, here I come!

Toffeekit , You are doing great.
Today I chose to set the timer as soon as I entered the house after work. Put away a load of laundry, went through the mail and organized it or tossed it immediately instead of adding it to a pile for later. Set the timer again for abdominal exercises.

Here I am - it's "tomorrow" now and I've done what I planned to do: recycling taken out to the recycling container; kitchen compost added to the garden composter; household room waste-bins emptied and the whole bagged up and binned. It didn't take 15 minutes.

Self-discipline is very satisfactory, isn't it?

You did it Toffeekit! As a proscrastinator I've promised myself many times to get something done tomorrow and it never happened.

15 minutes in kitchen cleanup again, stove, refridge, floor.
I knew organizing the closet would be a longer but so happy DH agreed to help me through it. He reminded me several times that the 15 minutes turned into 2.5 hours before we completed the task. He had years of coaching papers/VCR tapes/books that he went through. All of it except the books were tossed. The books went to donation.
    Holiday items minimized.
    Exercised during the cleaning.

15 minutes looking for the Wii sensor, want to hook the wii up big screen t.v. for exercising. Hopefully I didn't toss it when I did my decluttering this spring.
The rest of the exercise equipment is in front of the t.v. (hand weights, jump rope, medicine ball, exercise ball, stretch bands) to remind me to pick them up and use them when watching t.v.
    Did the dishes.
