Decided to pull (bump) this old trick (challenge) out of the hat this morning. It will be magic if it helps get me going on housework today. The major motivation is that my sister and nieces from out of town asked to stay at the house tonight Need to prepare for sleeping arrangements and meals also. It's my day off and I have until dusk (meeting at my parents for fireworks display put on by my brother) to get it done. Time is not a factor. It is pure housework proscrastination and laziness.
Anyone else need to get going this a.m.? Set your timer for 15 minutes and just get started at sometime, anything that you have been putting off getting done. Let me know how you do.

Here I go, timer set 0700... and party music on
0715- bed linen in the washer and guest bathroom soaking in cleaners and garbage emptied. Dog let out and water changed. TIme set again.
    0730...

1600 watched cooking videos on allrecipes.com while I ate lunch. Beds made. The kitchen was messed up again while dicing and slicing and chopping vegies for the pasta salad . All cleaned up, dishes washed and put away. Ds and Dh helped clean the garage. It is also decluttered and the stuff unneeded is gone to disposal site. Weeds pulled around the house. Bathroom #3 also cleaned up.
Spent 1/2 hour chatting with past Swedish host son. He is looking forward to visiting next summer.
Probably take a short nap before going to my parents house.

Ugh! Wish I'd found this thread earlier in the week. We own a restaurant and tomorrow DS1 and I are headed out of town to buy supplies. This is an all day trip that will get us back late. However, if it gets postponed until Sunday, I'll definitely be setting my timer. Great for the kids too. Otherwise it's Monday for me.

Well, the trip is postponed Sunday but no timer. I'm opening. Errands to run on way home so I guess being lazy is on the agenda for tomorrow night with an early bedtime. It'll be tough but I'll muddle through somehow.

    Welcome ImEmile. ImKim
Today I felt happy to have a cleaner home and garage! My sister cancelled last night due to bad weather. I brought the apple/raison french toast I prepared ahead last night to my parents this a.m for my brothers family who stayed the night there. I skyped with my brazilian foreign exchange student and his family they plan on visiting in January. Again was glad the house was tidy as they wanted to see the new flooring and painting done in the house. This afternoon my son surprised me when he brought in a female friend to introduce me to. Again glad for what I got done yesterday and kept clean today. Now off to a wedding and reception. Tomorrow back to work and will need to get out the timer when I return from work to get me motivated.

Thanks, Kim. Actually I'm Beth. ImEmile is Arabic for Emile's mom.

Getting out of here later than planned, like that's a surprise, but once I'm out I'm relaxing. It's been a lot of time on my feet today.

I used the timer today and got quite a bit done. I only set it once but then was motivated enough to keep going. Actually it was set 3 times, the first two for filling water tanks for horses, but I used that time to boogie.

Hoping to keep it tomorrow. The twins are at VBS this week so it frees up my time.

    Time to get moving.

Spent last 5 days at a cottage on a lake owned by the parents of a young man we care for occasionally for respite care. It was our Christmas gift from them. My parents and some friends visited. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery. My favorite moments were watching the majestic eagles swooping down to catch fish each evening on the shoreline in front of the cottage.

Now back to reality. First I need to get two online courses completed. Should be done within an hour. Be back soon!
