    My life in three words--

    Zombie. Transgendered. Chicken.

I'll blame it on 2AM... or dark magic (it technically wasn't groundhog day anymore, which would have explained EVERYTHING.) Not wanting to deal with the corpse at 2AM, I put it in a box so that the predators wouldn't mess with it. Imagine my surprise when I came back 16 or so hours later and the danged thing was ALIVE!!!

I'll repeat that. Killed the chicken. Buried it in a cardboard grave. It rose from the dead. (Because it's less disturbing to think that than to think that I just stunned it, THOUGHT it was dead, then left it a box for half a day. That would be just awful!)

Unsure of what to do with the undead chicken, as it was already dark and I didn't have a wooden stake handy, I put her back in the shed with the others.

She was right as rain this morning, and judging by the way she was strutting around, not even a crick in her neck. WTH????

I've changed her name to "Roo-Paul the Zombie Chicken."

But for what it's worth, she didn't crow today, so maybe I've traumatized that out of her...

Anyway, today, while avoiding the revenge of the zombie chicken (she's probably in the coop turning the others against me right now!) I tried to take care of a couple of retirement related paperwork things and met with the wall of inefficiency that is the Army... but I did pick up a few grocery deals and get new shoes for DD6, who was out of her old ones, but not into any hand-me-downs I could find.

    Tomorrow:
Call the customer service line to try to get website access
Clean the playroom (didn't happen yesterday-- need the kids to not be there when I'm purging old toys)
    Make a February menu
Try to do a little of the relaxing I'm supposed to be doing

Oh- but progress note on DD6-- we had to run back to school after the bus brought her home, because she kept forgetting to bring her lunch boxes home. Her teacher told me they just did another "benchmark" test and she's "gained 29 sight words in the past 3 weeks." Apparently that brings her "right up to the benchmark... not above, but meeting." So that's good news... I do wish I could see what it is she's doing in the classroom, because she's reading really well for me at home, and I suspect there's some stubbornness/anxiety at play. But at any rate, at least she's showing improvement in the classroom and not just at home (since that's where all my time is going lately...)

3/3 today: Got access to the website and printed off the form I needed. Got a menu made, though it was pretty uninspired and I will probably change it up as the month goes by. Playroom... I'm counting it because I spent a long while in there and at least made a good dent in it, but the weather thwarted me AGAIN today with a 2-hour school delay for ice.

But also ran to town for a couple of things I needed, finished a closet organizer project I've been slowly working on, and baked some bread (1 loaf for dinner, the other frozen with garlic for some Italian night to come.)

    Tomorrow:
-sort and put away the laundry that's washing right now
-continue to work on the playroom
-bake some more bread and rolls for the freezer
-check sale papers for the weekend
    -store run (yes, again...)
-clean either the kitchen or one/both of the bathrooms... preferably all of the above
-put wall art that fell down back up

BUT... I seem to have caught Deb-Cat's cold, so all of that is dependent on whether or not I can see past my watering eyes and runny nose tomorrow

Yesterday I shoveled most of the day since we got 6 more inches of snow which is the 10th snowstorm we've had & another one Saturday! We are all so weary of winter this year! Sorry for venting but I feel a little better now!(: I also washed a load of darks & put away dishes.
    Today 1. Sweep kitchen
    2.dust

Well made the menu until Sunday. I think I will make menus week by week, since who knows what sales will be in paper, and I used up ALL my freezer/cabinet items last month, so just using what I buy, trying not to overstock until I find a super sale.

Laundry/dishes are ALL done and put away. House is vacuumed and everything is picked up. Now that the daycare kiddos are asleep for 2 hours, I am not sure what to do.

    House needs to be dusted.
Make lesson plans and menus for next week.
    1 homework assignment-1 page long.
