3/3 on Friday, and today, I just have to say it-- I kicked ass!!!

    - Today Hubs and I pulled out about 50 feet of old, vine-entangled chain-link fence from the very back of our yard as well as about another 50 feet of easier, but still-tangled old wire fencing and got it all hauled to the dump.

    - While I was at the dump unloading all that, I met a couple about to toss 10-or-so (I haven't had time to count yet) tomato cages that were only a year old and perfect. I asked if since they were going to toss them anyway, could I have them. It's hard to say who was happier, them or me! So that's $60+ I don't need to spend on garden stuff, yay! (I used to have my tomatoes up on a trellis, but we've rearranged and I am going to be needing tomato cages this year. Now I don't have to buy them!)

-On the way home from the dump I stopped in at Home Depot and bought 10 cubic feet of topsoil and 16 cubic feet of "garden soil" (about 900lbs of dirt... and yes, I loaded it all onto the trolley myself, hauled it out myself, and loaded it into the van myself-- 4 employees offered to help, but I told them I needed the exercise )

-Then, after I got home, Hubs unloaded it all for me (thank goodness!!!) and I filled one of my new raised beds with 10 bags of topsoil and 7 bags of garden soil... I'd expected to need 10 of each, but I don't mind having extra! So I have one of the new beds all filled in and the dirt is a blend of those two soils, the native soil, and bunny poo I still have 3 leftover bags to use in the next raised bed, as well as 6 bags for two vertical planters I need to fill.

    - I had a nice long chat with the next-door neighbor, very productive... she said I can have the old cinderblocks back in the bamboo in her yard and she's having her husband take a big piece of metal railing that was tangled in the fence we pulled out, and she's going to use it as a trellis-- saves me the trouble of hauling it, plus I get free cinderblocks for a project I want to make!!! Also we talked about my bees-to-be and I was able to pick up one of the visiting wild bees and hold in on my finger to show her how gentle they really are. I think that went a long way to ease any fears she might be having about a bee hive near her kids (and mine)

And I got two loads of dishes done! I'm pooped!!!

Still to do-- take a bunch of painkillers and sleep!

Pinetree-- what I meant about the other day was that my to-do's SHOULD have been fun, and would sound fun if I listed them... but they were un-fun Example: Took a walk around downtown Annapolis-- sounds fun, but just kind of wasn't. Went to Ladies' night at the garden center-- sounds fun, but wasn't really...

Tomorrow (weather permitting, and assuming I don't wake up totally sore from everything I did today...)

    - Finish assembling vertical gardens
    - clean bunny hutches--dump the poop in to the second raised bed
    - buy more soil and fill second raised bed
    - plant radish seeds
    - load brush/debris into van for Monday dump run
    - catch up on Once Upon a Time

Thanks MM, it is So frustrating being slowed down, now I know what you have been going through the last couple years. You sure are buzzing along now, so I will take you advice.

Well the living room is painted and the furniture will be here on Tuesday.(Saved for it and got it on sale. Yay, no debt!) So tomorrow:

    1. get rid of old tables(either SIL will take them or they go to a charity)
    2. clean up dining room (everything got shoved in there this weekend)
    3. decant some paint into touch up jars and put it away.

I really hope I can get this done, I'm starting to feel a little sick, and it needs to wait until Wednesday. I can rest on Wednesday.

3/5 today-- I got the verticals all put together, soil mixed and all filled up-- even got my strawberries planted! (Need 16 more, but no big rush, since there's the possibility of SNOW this week-- wtH????) DD6 and I planted the radish seeds, which go in BEFORE the last frost, so we're right-on-time with that, I guess... and got the bunny hutches cleaned and dumped the poop in the second raised bed... but didn't get dirt for that bed or load anything into the van, my back started twinging, plus I realized I would need the van to drop the girls at school in the morning for an early event, and it probably would be better if it WASN'T full of sticks... then I also realized that it would be more fuel efficient to pick up the soil on my way home from the dump, rather than making a special trip out to town for it... only about half a gallon round-trip, but still, every little bit, right?

But, +3, I cleaned out the shed the chickens were using as a super-coop during that hideous cold-spell a while back and used that plus some kitchen scraps to start a load of compost in my long-neglected tumbler, also did another lice treatment on my kids, since it's been long enough now, and they have to get checked again by the nurse tomorrow morning (hence the early drop-off... yay...)

    Monday:
    - weather permitting-- clear/load as much brush as possible into the van and haul it to the dump
    - pick up 10 bags of topsoil and 10 bags of garden soil from Home Depot
    - fill second bed, begin assembling other two verticles if time permits
    - remember to bring the seed potatoes in tomorrow night before the temp drops and the crazy-snow comes...
    - and *IF* the shipment arrived, pick up two more baby chicks from the garden center--they were supposed to get Easter Eggers today, so if they did, they'll be available for sale tomorrow...

    2) Bake brownies for Tuesday's ceremony at former workplace
    3) Clean out drawers of my desk

    Monday

ilovechocolate, thanks for asking, I am feeling alittle better everyday, the problem is, this makes you so tired, the kids are having the same problem, you get up and an hour later you are ready for a nap. I now know what Maui has been talking about. Its really hard having to pace yourself.

Z, wow, where did you get all the energy!! You are really getting things done, I'm jealous!

It snowed here again, so the garden is covered, all I can do is start seeds inside and hope for warmer weather, ha, suppose to snow again in a couple days..... Spring, where are you?

    Oh man.. I smell brownies!!

2/3 today. SIL can't pick up tables until tomorrow, so that waits. Tomorrow:

    1. Arrange new furniture.
    2. plant more seeds(inside - it's still too cold to plant outside)
    3. make planting charts for raised beds.
