Jen I sure hope you are feeling better tomorrow. I feel so bad for you, I wish I could help you some how.
What you guys explaining in this implant is not what these DR.s are telling me. Mine only goes off if my heart stops, and then its going to feel like I got hit in the chest with a baseball bat. It can knock me to the floor. Maybe I will reread or call him to see what the difference is. I thought this was a pace maker and he said no its completely different.. I dont know now..

Pinetree-if you need it you may already be on the floor? Your heart would be off rhythm or stopped. Dmoms Dr. really didnt explain it well nor did the Specialist (installer!), The the Dr. kept going on about did she feel improvement yet. So I said "wait, I am missing something here?" Hers monitors/and regulates beats and FYI (for your information) The alarm for low battery on hers sounds like a British ambulance! She was not happy when she heard it during the testing after surgery. (she had 3 appointments where they checked if it was working and how well.)
Ended up doing more brushing on Yogi. So furry. Bt the time I tame it he will get winter coat

Took Mikey to pick up DD because he needs leash and car training. She wanted to get him out of the car. He slipped his collar and ran into my picky Dneighbors garage and yard. AHHHH! I didn't want to apologise if he didn't see and stir up trouble but I feel like I should even though it was DD's fault-ish. Never a dull moment.
Om-sorry to hear. busy day for you. Pffft.

OM-best wishes to mummy Dbro.
My drug smoking/dealing, doesn't take care of his property neighbor is kicked out I hear. There is a full dumpster and a lawn trailer full in the driveway. The lawn is in need of a mow and full of acorn sproutings. The leaf pile from last fall remains. So IDK? People are coming and going. The front storm door has been propped open for a week but the shed w/ the gas and propane is finally shut after 3 weeks and 3 storms. DH forbid my sneaking over to close that. I mean dangerous or what? So I am oh so hopeful. He is weird. And i only spoke to him 1x when he first moved in. I said hi I am xxx and welcome to the neighborhood. He begrudgingly said hi I am Doug. That was in 3 years. Suited me fine.
Did the vet w/ Mackey for yearly and to check his bad knees. Severe arthritis in both. So pain management until it doesnt work anymore. He doesnt feel surgery would benefit and at $3500. a knee its a no go. Got hw/flea for the rest of the year and 180 pain meds=$379. donation!
Need to get DD at 2pm from work and at some point shampoo the dye down a bit. It is lighter at the top and dark at the ends but not a super diff. So weird. I think I may have to pay now because it is so white/grey
Don't know what else I'm doing but LAAAAAUUUUUNdry, again!

Hope everyone is having a better day than me.
I just had to deal with our vet, too. Sugar slipped by me out on the deck and started going down into the little garden, went down a couple steps, then jumped, tripped, and slammed her head into the cinder block that makes our raised garden bed. My poor, poor sweet little girl. I feel so bad. I didn't plan to let her go down there because I know steps are just too dangerous for her, but she's quick for an old lady. She screamed and cried and had a bloody nose, but all that has stopped now. She ate her lunch okay. The tech said to watch and make sure she's eating and drinking okay and walking okay and all. I'm just scared she's bleeding in her brain or something. But I'll be getting her up every hour this afternoon and giving her a snack, just so I can make sure she's doing all right. The tech thought as long as she's acting normal, she's probably okay. So I'm glued to the couch where I can watch her. She won't be leaving my sight today. She's sleeping now but she sleeps a lot and the vet tech said sleeping is okay if that's what she normally does. Sugar's pupils are the same size and the vet tech said that was good, too. So I'm cautiously optimistic. I still can't believe how hard that poor doggy hit. It's all my fault. I'm usually so careful but she just got by me when I opened the deck gate and Sota went through. She wasn't there and then suddenly she was on the steps and I couldn't get to her in time to stop her or help her down.
In happier news, I spent my active chore time this morning getting my hands dirty and potting up the plants we bought yesterday. We're such suckers. The nursery had annuals BOGO, so we bought two of the prettiest geraniums I've ever seen, white with a pretty pink edging. I'm keeping those as houseplants. Then Husby wanted some red and white petunias so we got those. I put those in a hanging planter on the front deck, so he'll like that. I also bought a pink African violet because I have a little ceramic planter I love that has a pink ceramic ribbon around it that just matches the pink flowers. Perfect! We have so many plants this year and they're all so pretty.
I cooked a bunch of stuff up yesterday for the freezer. Need to do more.
Husby asked the other day if we were going to buy ourselves something for our fortieth anniversary this weekend. I just laughed and reminded him we just bought a brand new 40-something-inch TV a couple weeks ago, a nice gift for both of us. So that took care of that. I'll hit him up later after I lose all my weight, because I want a new wedding ring set with lots of diamonds (from a pawn shop would be fine) which are my birthstone. Or at least I want a big diamond put into MIL's wedding set. It'll be a couple years yet for that, most likely.
I did buy a collection of thirty succulent cuttings yesterday though. We both like plants and this collection has some really cool stuff, including the burro's tails I've been meaning to get started for years now, so that'll be a nice anniversary gift. I can't wait to get them! It'll take years for them to get very big so I need to start ASAP. I hope I can manage not to kill them all.
Gotta check my girl. :(

SD, poor Sugar! How scary, probably worse for you than for her. So far it sounds good though.
Happy 40th Anniversary!
fw, I think I put my foot in my mouth with you with my remark about our neighbor's house with holes in the walls. We've had them too---once DS (he was about 9) pitched a fit and slammed his bedroom door, it swung back into the wall and the knob made a hole, then he slammed it again and the door fell off its hinges! It was hysterically funny. He was shocked and of course we wanted to laugh and we couldn't so we pretended to be mad and upset with him until we could hide out in the den and roll on the floor laughing. We didn't put the door back up for the longest time, so he had no privacy. He has never slammed a door in our house since.
And even though I'm getting a Bosch dishwasher, I would still be proud to associate with all my non-Bosch-owning friends. :bigwink:
om, sorry about your brother. I know that scared you. Hope you get to go out to eat tonight.
Jen, you poor thing, isn't there a shot or something that would help? I have a friend who swears that cherries and cherry juice help prevent it. ???? I know you're frustrated. I'm so sorry.
pinetree, I'm so glad you're having the surgery. Scary, you bet, but we want you around for a long, long time.
Everybody else, I hope you're doing well.
So far today I've vacuumed, made 2 batches of muffins, baked a cake, done some cleaning. Not sure about the rest of the day.
Friends, if you feel led to do so, please offer up prayers and good thoughts for the Seth Jones family. He is a 17-year-old with malignant melanoma. After over a year of radiation and many surgeries, the end seems to be close. He's in a coma and has not been responsive. He and his family have a strong faith but this has to be shattering for his parents and others who love him. It is just hurting my heart today.
Have a good one, ladies.

Prayers for Sugar and Seth.....hugs to all
07-17-2015, 04:49 PM
ilc - prayers will be going up for Seth and his family. So sad, only 17 years old. Gosh, every day we have here on earth is truly a blessing, sometimes we have to be reminded.
fw - I didn't hook up my ice maker either and for smoothies I just use frozen fruit. Isn't Mackey fairly young? Sad that he has such pain in his knees. Was it something he was born with?
pinetree - I didn't know what JK meant! It took me a few to figure it out when SD used it one time. I though she was talking about Jen Kuhns and it didn't make sense. Ha, ha, ha!!!
SD - Happy 40th!! Sorry to hear that Sugar took a spill. Hopefully she's okay. We spend so much time worrying about our pets, don't we?
Jen - Sorry your gout is causing you so much pain, I think a wheelchair is a good idea, just to have around on your bad days when you need it.
The dog I was dog-sitting was the same one that I watched all winter. He comes to me when his parents are out of town. Wednesday just before they were to come and get him, he's in the yard with us and he's holding up his leg and limping. I pick him up and there's a bee tangled in his fur on his foot. DH got the bee out but I think it probably stung him a number of times. I called the vet to see how much Bendadryl (sp?) I could give him and they told me what to watch for if he had an allergic reaction. He was whimpering, wouldn't walk on his foot and was hiding. Of course that's when his parents called to ask if they could pick him up the next morning. So I worried about him all night but he was fine.
DH helped me get the whole lawn done yesterday so I wouldn't have to do the front today. It's hot and high humidity today and hotter tomorrow.
1 - dailies
2 - figure out something for dinner and make it
3 - trim some trees (this seems to be never ending)

Thanks, everyone. Sugar seems okay so far. I'm hopeful. She just now refused to eat a piece of a rice cake, but scarfed down a marshmallow with no hesitation. Typical kid.
That hurts my heart to hear about Seth. My brother died of malignant melanoma when he was only 35, leaving behind two daughters. DAMN CANCER! I will keep him and his family in my thoughts.
I'm not feeling real chatty today. I know, hard to believe. I'm hoping all of you are having a great Friday though.

This is not a good day for dogs and their owners. I had a little bawl about Mackey because he is a sweety but IDK if I should keep him or let him go some days.
SD-you had me in tears about sugar too. Hope she will be ok. AND animals are impulsive. 4x this month Yogi had knocked by DH and ran down the drive. Fortunately, the ID 10 T! just circles around and around the van at warp speed. We actually have a leash waiting in the van at this point for him and his antics. And Mikey yesterday slipping the collar w/ pro moves. We go out w/ harnesses IF we are taking them. NO.I vote for not your fault. BUT I also understand. I am still punishing myself for squeaking back at Greta,my shepherd, turns out she wasnt playing she had cancer and was in pain. It was lymph and the vet missed it 2 days before too. They can't say hey. I wish they could.
Rabbit-happened when he was 2. Yogi and Mackey got clipped together from those stupid squeeze clip collars. Mackeys lip got pinched in it and he nearly choked Yogi to death. Apparently, the cartelidge (sp). in his knees was shredded,
It went months before I saw him sitting so weird. 2 xrays later I was devistated.
Greta was 1 for biting bees. 1 time she came in a had a bumpy face. DD pulled 3 stingers out w/ The CC trick. Benadryl and a few prayers.
Watched Ex Machina. Great film about AI if you like SYFY. Had DH pick up nutty buddy cones. Date night broke style.
They got DH's new paycheck messed up because they lost the papers. His last check @ Fords w/ short because of the kidney stone 2 days off. (so miss salary! over hourly). So after a $379. day at the vet I think this is a cheapy weekend.
We may go to the mall for the 1st time in 7yrs? for the AC.Supposed to be over 90 and we still have no AC. DD gave Dh that movie GC.
SD-congrats on the Anniversary. 40 years is amazing these days. We are 30 yrs. next weekend.

FW, so sorry about Mackey. Have you checked with your university vet school? Sometimes they do free or low cost surgeries at the U of Minnesota as training for vet students. Maybe the U of Michigan does, too. Thanks for your kind words. Sugar is quiet today and I'm sure she has some pain from bruises and pulled muscles but I'm optimistic now she'll be okay.
Vet run this AM. Everybody but Jack. He's going to wonder why he's the only one in the house. Sugar is just going for a claw clipping since she's so unpleasant about it in her old age. Kitties are getting their wellness checks and Sota needs a rabies shot, so nothing major for anyone, luckily.
All the sitting around was productive after all yesterday. I read a 500-page ms. that was a later revision of the first one I read last week and I think I can fix it. All I have to do is kill someone, not sure who yet, and unkill someone else whom I would prefer to stay dead, but unkilling her has some advantages. I have to get my office in better shape so I can get back to writing. One measly hour a day would do wonders. I'm going to rejoin Romance Writers of America again, too. I have been away from writing for so long and so much has changed I have to relearn all the business end of writing from the ground up, and RWA is a great place for that kind of thing. Sure am glad I earned PRO status a long time ago, because that'll allow me to participate in PRO forums which is all geared to business. (PRO is for people who have completed at least one novel and submitted it to a major publisher and can document that.) I still wear my PRO pin proudly because lots of people say they're going to write a book and I actually did. Several, in fact.
I have other projects I need to unearth that actually are romance novels. I need to see if any of them have any potential, too.
I'm going to need a really big box to haul all those old mss. into the house. It's going to be fun to read through them though.
Gotta go. Time to round up the critters. Such fun stuffing kitties in their little boxes.
