Not much going on here. Going to CVS to get laundry detergent on sale for $1.99 and then get back $! on Ibotta. Then heading to a Hallelujah lunch for all the retired teachers in our district. Got to cut coupons and match deals this week. Went to the casino yesterday with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law and came home $146 richer and only spent $20. Woo! Hoo! Making eggplant marinara for dinner. Got to get back in sync. Schools all started back today and DH works as an electrician for the school district from which I retired. He will be really busy this week, so gotta get cracking on cooking.

Grammarbug, have fun at the lunch! That's a great name for it. As a retired teacher, I approve

pinetree, that is too funny about your foot---I mean leg (hee hee) sticking out of the tent!

Don't tire yourself out. I know you feel better, but still....

Yesterday was great. I did as little as was humanly possible AND watched two episodes of Sherlock on PBS last night. Oh, that Benedict Cumberbatch's voice...does anybody here watch it?

DS will be coming tonight for his doctor's appointment tomorrow so I changed my menu plan since neither he nor DD like meatloaf. Last night we had grilled chicken, and tonight we'll have spaghetti. Then DS can take some back to Atlanta with him tomorrow.

    For Monday:

    1) Financial stuff with DH----tried, but with the market going crazy, we couldn't get into our brokerage site---will try again later
    2) Vacuum upstairs and downstairs
    3) Mop breakfast room and kitchen
    4) Bake a yellow cake for DS (plain yellow cake, no frosting, just the cake is what he likes) and probably something else that he can take back with him
    5) Reschedule appointment DONE
    6) Reset the den

Just routine stuff today. Have a good Monday, ladies.

I got up this morning obsessed with the cabin, so I went out and moved stuff out of the hall closet into the file drawers in my desk, mostly reams of paper, sheet protectors, labels, and that kind of stuff. I stashed the magazines I've published in behind the little plastic drawer cabinet that has paper clips and stuff in, to make more room. I emptied the box of adding machine paper and put it all on top of the collection of 9/11 publications we'll never look at again, so I could get rid of that box and make even more space. Then I dragged the three giant totes of rugs off the potting cabinet in the entry and emptied those into the closet, where they take up slightly less than two shelves, leaving me three shelves for office supplies and whatever else I need them for. Perfect! Plus it's easier to see what the rugs look like without hauling them all out. I hate digging through totes.

I sorted all the pots in the entry and organized everything into the new cabinet we bought for that space, and the wire pull outs we already had. Most of it anyway. Some stuff will have to wait till the greenhouse is built to be really put away, but at least now everything is organized and as out of the way as possible. I rounded up two fridge drawers in the garage, cleaned those up, and added them to the cabinet to further organize things. I emptied the old cabinet I want to get rid of and made the decision we can trash it. It's all particle board and never was a nice cabinet, so not much of a loss. We have no other purpose for it and it's not worth the effort even to give away. Maybe when Husby comes home tonight I can get him to take it apart for me. I have a bookcase I want to move out there instead, which will hold bird seed and other critter-related items, plus some planters. Maybe later today I'll clear the bookcase out so that's ready to move. Sometimes if I set stuff in the way, Husby is more motivated to do whatever needs to be done so it can be moved out of the way.

I have almost enough stuff put away now and enough floor space cleared that we shouldn't have too much trouble moving the two cabinets that need to be stripped out of my office. Amazing. I found all the stripper I need yesterday, so need to get those cabinets done soon too, because we need those in the back porch.

You all inspired me so I repaired a hummingbird feeder, made them some syrup, and put the feeder out. I know the little guys are around, so I hope they realize it's out there. It's cold out so they could probably use some extra calories.

Still have my office to do, but I was able to move a few things out of there, too, that belong in the middle room we cleaned out yesterday. I might actually get the whole building done before September.

Still have to load the dishwasher and do the plastics by hand. Some days I really wonder why we bother with a dishwasher. I need to keep fighting my way through the first row of the antimacassar I'm making for The Office Chair. I haven't done any crochet for a while and I'm all thumbs at the moment. I'm sure it'll start to click soon, but right now it's a total pain.

Found a stone mason company nearby (45 miles) so I fired off an e mail to see if they can cut the 'new' cultured marble sink we bought. I sure hope so. I'd really love to get the sink and vanity installed before winter. It's going to be such a huge improvement to go from the spit-and-Kleenex hunk of junk the house came with that doesn't even have a drawer, to a six drawer, two door quality cabinet. I also can't wait to get rid of the POC plastic sink that can't even be scrubbed clean anymore with the chipped, stained laminate countertop to a one-piece cultured marble sink and counter with nice drip-resistant edges. It's going to be an amazing transformation.

    Still reading back Chatty bunch

Just an update for right now.

Can't remember what I'd said about my tooth. Went to the dentist. Did xray. Said I have a cavity ABOVE the gum line. I asked if it could be filled and he said why would you want to. It's the very last tooth on the top. I still have it. Right now it's not giving me any problems but it will again. Fact. I'll wait right now. That's $200 + I don't really have right now. I also have another one that needs to go and unfortunately it's the bottom left and it's the last major jaw tooth there. Nothing to anchor another for a bridge. THAT one is an issue. It's loose and gets infected.

Hubs was in the hospital for 6 days. On a Sunday morning he went over to work and called me and said he couldn't go anymore. Asked for me to come pick him up and take him to the hospital. Wait... did I already tell you all about this? Anyway... he's home and somewhat better. Was admitted to ICU.
No on the pump. Said he's not there yet. For now.

Doing chores for the day. So far...
3 or 4 loads laundry washed. 2 or 3 put away.
Put away a crap ton from my nightstand.

Mostly piddling around with this or that.

    Still want to do...
Put away stuff from around the kitchen chair at the counter. Sat there long enough.

My lunch was great! I came home to a lot of freebies: dishwasher tabs, book for my grandson, two packages of feminine napkins, a magazine. I am obsessed with free stuff. Resting before I make dinner. My head is aching today. You all seem so busy today. Hope you can have a day of rest.

Good nap. Going to flip the load and then get DD. Dinner? who knows.
GB-I used to do that and then gave a lot to homeless thru church.

Niko-hugs. Hope you get your teeth issues under control. The DR. said no pump or DH?

Made a pan of granola crispies bars for Husby. Still didn't get the dishes done, what a shame.

Husby gave away two gallons of KILZ primer and another kind to a co-worker. It's a great deal for her. And for us too, since we were going to throw it away and now we don't have to deal with it.

Still no dishes done, but supper's in the oven. (Thanks, whoever mentioned meatloaf! I happened to have one in the freezer, now in the oven where it's starting to smell good. ) I'm baking the last of the wrinkly potatoes, too, so those will get used before they're inedible. Think I'll just open some cans for a veggie. I'm tired.

I sorted through the box of cleaners and assorted chemical stuff I found in the cabin and put that all away, and cleaned the dust off the bleach and carpet cleaner bottles. Then I sorted out a bunch of stuff from the laundry area cabinets that now belongs in the cabin, so that can go out there tomorrow.

Husby took the cabinet apart for me. Tomorrow I can sweep up out there and get ready to move the cabinets that need to be stripped. If I don't get on with this stuff, it'll be winter and then too late.
