Hey, my hands are a little better, but still a bit sore. I moved the furniture yesterday, with only a couple of stray items to be moved. Then painting and cleaning and I will be done with it.

    My 3 things for today:
    1. Send my landlord a mail to tell him the heater doesn't work again (have been forgetting it for over a week).
    2. Put my clothes back in the wardrobe (hey I already put the wardrobe back together, so thats a start )
    3. Sweep the downstars.

Ayanka-glad to hear your hands are better. Bit by bit on the house! hugs
GB-'tis the time of year. I fell into a funk over finding out Dear old Bf passed last year and I just found out,DD got in trouble at work,3 of my fav. cats got adopted and no goodbye (yes, silly),I am worried DD will lose her job and she has no ins. currently.(this is her depression season and getting her to do anything is obnoxcious)

Going to get DH to bring in the patio set-sad. The wind and rains here have started so leaf raking is here. Interesting to see how the 6 trees the Dneighbor cut will help.
    laundry
    mop kitchen?

    Happy Sweetest DAY!!!

Ayanka, so glad to hear that your hands are better. You seem to be very busy.

FW2--Hang in there with DD. Been there with my eldest son who is doing wonderful now. My DD's landlord had picked up her package and put it in an area that she rarely goes, so she did get her birthday package. The weather is supposed to be in the 80s here today. Wonderful! I am always sad too when my beautiful flower garden begins to fade for the winter. I have a few more weeks left. Planted the burr oak that I got free a few weeks ago. Ordered a pecan and another burr oak from the Arbor Foundation as my local electric company was sponsoring a free giveaway. Planning on going to a nearby nursery today as they are having a 75th birthday celebration and giving away things and also to purchase 3 more Texas native perennials for my Texas bed for $17.95. That is cheap around here. Hopefully I will win something too. Gotta teach at the theatre later this morning. Rehearsing for a showcase next week. Ready for this class to be over.
    Everyone have a glorious day.

SD 30% off on the desks at ReStore!! That's awesome!!

FV I cannot wait to see the tiger costume as your avatar. That's going to be so cute on him. I'm glad he'll crash in the crate after whining a bit. He needs the rest and that'll keep him quiet for a bit. Poor baby though. I know how hard that must be for you to hear him fussing in there. How many days are left with isolation? I'm sorry you didn't get to say goodbye to your kitty crew at the rescue. It's not silly at all to want to say goodbye. You reminded me I need to bring in the chairs from around the pool. They came and closed it this week but we forgot to bring in the chairs.

GB I'm glad you're feeling better and what a relief that your daughter got her package after all! Yay! I love Debbie Macomber. I haven't read the one you mentioned though so let me know how you like it. I read her Cedar Cove and Blossom Street series and really, really enjoyed them.

Ayanka sounds like you're making progress! Awesome! Nice job on getting the wardrobe together too. Happy to hear your hands are better too.

Hi TDN, Bernice, Pinetree, ILC, Niko and anyone I missed.

I woke at 6:00 due to a raging thunderstorm. Lots of lightning and thunder but it passed fairly quickly. Now it's sunny but cold. Well, it's 49 but that's seasonally cold for us here in the North. 50% chance of more showers though so we'll not plan on outdoor activities. I need to run to the grocery store this morning. Debating a Sam's Club run. We're out of some stuff but I'm not sure we are out of enough to justify a 40 min drive. I need to check our paper products and cat litter as we save a lot by getting them there vs a local grocery store we use. I have a doc appt Monday to follow up on my TMJ and as it's been two years he wanted me to have blood work done. I got the results back via the patient online portal which is nice but I haven't spoken to him about them yet. I think they look OK but I worry a bit as my numbers are all in the normal range BUT they have crept up a bit since 2013 when I had them done last. Because of my Mom's cardiac history I am easily alarmed at anything heart related and am hoping the changes I've made in my lifestyle and the addition of exercise is going to help me in the long run. I know it can't hurt of course but I hope I'm doing enough. The TMJ has improved although I still have problems. I can't open my mouth very wide (for instance I can't just pick up a hamburger or an apple and bite into it, I have to cut it up. I can open my mouth wide enough for a skinny sandwich but not anything big like a grilled chix breast sandwich or the hamburger I mentioned. I have weaned down to one anti inflammatory med each day and I do skip a day now and then. I tried to stop completely but after three days the pain was ramping up quite a bit and I restarted but kept with just the one pill a day vs two which is what the doc had me start with. He told me to use at my discretion and we'd re-evaluate in October which is where we are now.

I also today need to finish going through that box of stuff from my grandmother's. There's a bunch of old patterns I dragged out too that I need to see whether to keep, give to DD or donate if she doesn't want them. Based on some of the styles I saw on the packages as I was loading them up in the box I think they may have been stuff from the 70's even so must have been stuff my Mom had and passed on to me?? I have no idea! But they might be fun to see

Hope you all have a great day!

hikr, it was 50 this morning here and the next few nights will be down in the low 40s which is unseasonably cold for us.

When do you go the doctor again?

Gbug, our daytime 80s seem to be gone till next year. Enjoy all your new trees!

Ayanka, sounds like you're making good progress on the new house.

fw, so sorry your DD got a complaint. If she was eating her lunch I certainly think it made sense that she asked someone else to do the job. Everybody deserves to be able to eat during lunch break!

SD, have a safe and fun trip today.

pinetree, set that appointment! I do understand about the driving and the snow. Speaking of snow, are y'all forecast for any in the next few days? The forecast for Georgia this winter is colder and more precipitation than normal.

Everyone else, I hope you have a really nice Saturday.

DS isn't coming till today or tomorrow for a doctor's appointment Monday a.m. I know that he wants to spend as much time as possible in his nice apartment before he has to move back home. Even though it's not so bad here----bathrooms are kept clean and the cooking is good.

    For Saturday:

    1) More laundry IN PROGRESS
    2) Vacuum/mop
    3) Check on DH as he works on the dormers
    4) Go through old linens to find more dog bedding
    5) Revise menus
    6) Change sheets on our bed

    Have a good day!

Hikr-forever. 27 days more this treatment. Another treatment. another month? then IDK? I am just getting thru bit by bit.

well, my earache is finally subsided to tolerable. and the sore throat too. The side of my mouth isnt as torn up from the sharp tooth so I am grateful. I could hardly eat for awhile.

So DH says the neighbor is now going to take out the doulbe front door and put in the side transomes like we have. He must stop! we are starting to look bad!! lol

    Happy Saturday!

GB, Happy Birthday to your daughter!! So glad she found her gifts!
I am jealous about your trees, I would love to have nut trees but they wont grow here, only black walnut, and those are just a pain.

ILC, yea, yea ,yea, I am kinda upset about all this rehab stuff, I seem to have everything there is to have. Where is all these problems appearing from? DH is wondering too. Dr. Hero never said anything about lung problems, just asked if I had gotton rid of the oxygen yet, so we had alot more questions.
DH asked about the diabetic crap, he said I tested at 189, and my a1c was 12.6, this was in the er. when I first went in and I had only been drinking coke for about aweek. Its getting real frustrating, that they dont really know either, but won't look at it. We want to see if we can do it over the computer, rather than going all the way down there. he will have to approve it. Don't worry, it will be taken care or one way or the other.
When is your DS moving back home? I thought it was after the first quarter?

FW, Hang on, will send up prayers for your family, I can't wait to see the new avatar!! try to take it easy.. maybe make a pan of brownies, and celebrate your new car!!

Hikr,, Hope your tests come out ok, I know you are trying to change everything. I'm finding it takes more time than you think!

Rona, have a good weekend, home safe and sound!

SD, wow, now you are getting desks for free??!! LOL,, boy are you guys finding the deals, and aren't even trying!!

Ayanka, I'm so happy for you!! Everything is working out for you, all that hard work is paying off!! Give yourself a big pat on the shoulder!!!

Niko, sending up prayers and thinking of you.

OM, Hope you are lurking and you are doing ok.

    Today
    read paper
help kids make salt water for new tank
    do something with extra tomatoes

    Have a great day!!

pinetree-12.6 is impending stroke territory. 6.0 should be the goal. DEMAND to have that A1C retested. Do you have dizziness and headaches? Thats just craziness.

Dh is out there burning papers and brush. Its windy and cold out there. I appreciate him today.

FW, That A1C was taken in the emergency care before I was admitted to the hospital. i told them I was sipping on coke trying to calm my stomach down, I hadn't eaten in a few days. I took the coke with me in the ambulance down to the hosptial.

All my A1C's since have been 5.8 or lower, the last one was 5.4, I think, Dh's was at 6.8 and he's ok. Something just doesnt seem right. They also kept putting me down as a smoker, I kept telling them to take it off, finally one of them put a former smoker on the file, seven months later!! well at least they dont call me a smoker now.. lol

I'm dizzy all the time, from my blood pressure meds, but no headaches.. giving thanks on that one!!

Husby liked the metal desk we saw last week, so we bought that one. Husby said it was $19 more last week than we paid this week, which helped offset the gas to go back. We paid only $24 for it. It's not perfect but he's loving the idea of a U desk and excited about the project. I hope we can get it installed pretty soon so he can move into it. I'm really happy about getting it because I don't have to try to build something now, at least nothing complex, and that will move the project along a lot faster. I'm especially happy because it's not that easy to find an L desk which is what he really wanted, and because now that we have that big piece, I can start planning the rest of the room and know what we have to deal with.

We got some deals again today, but besides the desk, nothing too major. We did buy a service cart at Harbor Freight for the garage and I think we're going to love it. We stayed with the less expensive one for $110 and I think it'll be just what we need. It should help us organize in the garage and not have to spend so much time looking for tools, and also help us work more efficiently. It's not a huge tool cabinet but still weighs about 100 pounds. Can't wait to get our most-used hand tools, the ones we're always searching for, sorted and put in there. We'll be able to wheel the cart around the garage so all the little tools we need will then be right next to wherever we're working on our projects.

It occurred to me on the way home tonight we are like our little chipmunks, frantically stashing away stuff we'll need for winter. I think we're about done now though. We'll have plenty to do over winter and should have most of what we need to do it.

It's been a very long tiring day. Night, all!

Ayanka, glad to read your hands are getting better.
FW does your daughter use an SAD light to help with winter blues (yes I know that's too light a term), but lack of sunshine can really affect people especially if you suffer with depression?

Hikr, you jaw sounds awkward, hope it improves for you soon. The box of patterns from your Grandmothers will hopefully raise a lot of fun nice memories.

ILC clean bathrooms & good cooking sounds wonderful to me

Pinetree still in shorts, hmm I've got the thermals out (although it's still a balmy 8 C here (46F?)). I know a wee lad from estonia and it get down to something like minus 30C (-22F) but he says he's never been as cold as he is here, I think it's a combination of damp and wind??? I hope your feeling better today sounds like you've been having a really rough time of it (((hug)))

SD I've heard the term squirreled away, what's the chipmunked version of it chipmunkeded, chipmunkified, chipmunking??? Sounds like you two are sorted for the winter

I should be relaxing but I have loads to do, Dh had the kids alive and fed when I came home but not much else done, so it's all go, here my to do:

    Laundry lots
    Tidy kids rooms
    Check school bags
    Bake for the week
I'm going to have to go for a small walk, getting really irritated with how little I'm doing with the knee, physio again in a couple of days so I'm going to ask her about gardening/walking, fingers crossed she gives me the green light.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday

Good Sunday morning to all. Well, my house is still not clean, but decided to clean it Tuesday so I could enjoy the 70s that we are having now. My class went well yesterday and out showcase is next week. After I got home, DH and I went to the casino with $25 in their free play money. I didn't take any of my own and I left with $278, so I can pay some more hospital bills. I felt more normal yesterday. Went to the nursery that was having a big sale and bought three Texas perennials for my butterfly, hummingbird, bee garden. My head today is a little fuzzy. Not much happening today. I do have to wash clothes, but no house cleaning. Hoping my head clears for me to go to church. We are having a harvest Sunday to bring in sacks of groceries for our food pantry. Gotta get a shower gift today, also. Hopefully, later DH and I can go to courthouse lawn and listen to music. Everyone have a blessed day.
