Gb-you going be on that high roller show?lol Congrats on the win and wise of you to limit how you play. I stay out of casinos. IDK. They scare me.
Sprang for Thai food. Dh took DD to work and palyed w/ little guy so I need to take a turn today. Wed is 1 week. Seems like forever already.
The sun is out and I am grateful.
Need to call Dmom again and make sure the repairmen came. Her ignitor wasnt working last night. She has a nice space heater that even shuts off if it tips and refuses to use it? I hope this is resloved today.
10-20-2015, 12:30 AM
Sd-dont ya just love all the extra work. Dh just washed a load for Hunter. He had an accident after the anaesthetic. He is so good for the most part. Poor Sugar-doggie diapers?
DD seems to have settled a little about her work incident. I said very little.
Dmom got her ignitor fixed on the furnace. It was under her warrenty plan. Its not my business but that plan is such an old people tax.
Guess I'm a bad DD but I sure don't want to go to her Dr. appt tomorrow. Wated day KWIM?

GB, how did the haircut go? Did you enjoy the casino, did you strike it rich?????
Pinetree physio is today so I'm hoping she will give me a few green lights :D I was sorry to read that you don't get out that often, you strike me as a lady who likes to be active ((hug))
Rooted Nomad hope you have a shorter working day today!
SD yep fellas do tend to leave stuff all over the place, opened the sock drawer once to find a line level in there once  Your office sounds lovely, hope you manage to get your dh's things back into his office ;) Your day sounded idyllic, isn't there something special when you make that recognition of old "friends" that come back every year (for me it's a pair of swans in the pond next to us), they seem to set a rhythm to our lives.
FW glad your mum got her furnace sorted, is her dr appointment today?
So far so done:
Books with girls
Kids away to school
Scheduled delivery of books
Checked in on Da
Brought spreadsheet up to date
1 load of laundry done
Still to do:
Physical Therapy appointment
work on bedroom
chicken soup (with lots of garlic) on for ds - he has a wee cough
Study - Signed up for a free online grammar / punctuation course, starting to forget what a semicolon is used for
More laundry & hang to dry
Hope everyone has a great Tuesday:0

Good morning, doctor visit went well. He was pleased to see my weight continues to come down and had some good advice about my daily goals and nutrients. He did recommend a visit with a dietitian in order to get some in depth info as that's their specialty but I need to check with my insurance and see if that is a covered service (which I doubt) and if it isn't how much would it be so I'm prepared to pay for it. Also the hospital sometimes offers free nutrition classes and that's another avenue I want to explore to see if they have one coming up or not. He was pleased to hear I've been doing more walking and training for the Santa Hustle and that we've started water aerobics but did encourage me to try some of the other classes offered at the gym to get more cardio in. I must have made a face because he said "oh hikr, trust me, you're going to get to a point where you look forward to exercise". I hope he's right. LOL.
Today I have a hair appt at 9:00 and crafting with my buddy tonight. Gotta work on some more packing in the craft room also. I need to sort through clothes and see what fits and what doesn't in my closet. My room is a hot mess with piles of clothes I've dragged out and been slowly picking away at. The thing is I need to try on things because manufacturers are so inconsistent with sizing that what fits me in one brand is way too big (or small) in another brand. No rhyme or reason to the sizing that I can find. But what a headache trying everything on.
FW, no black pantyhose! LOL! I haven't worn pantyhose in years. With working from home the need never arose. I usually wear nice pants to church and we don't go anywhere fancier than that. haha. But that's a good idea. I actually found some heavier fabric sold as a remnant I picked up which will work nicely. It's stiff enough that the ears will stay up without having to stick a pipe cleaner in there to keep them standing up. That's funny and gross about the cat and your DD. Oh what a mess that had to have been.
TDN isn't it awesome when the house is perfectly clean? It lasts five minutes here because DH has no clue how to pick up unless I'm there saying "hey, this is not a barn, pick up your stuff" but it is nice to have for a few minutes.
Rona I never knew that about cats bringing things in to teach us how to hunt. That's interesting. Our cat is strictly inside. She hasn't seen the light of day unless she was in the carrier on the way to or from the vet office. There are wild animals around our house and I worry so much about something happening to them (cats especially) that all ours have always stayed inside. I just can't take the chance. So I'm not sure about her hunting instinct (if she still has one). I told you guys about our one cat that found a mouse in the basement and brought it up to play with but this little girl is such a diva I don't know that she'd ruffle her fur by hunting. LOL!
GBug how did it go with the doc and physical therapy?
Nomad I have you have a shorter working day today. Don't worry if you can't check in daily. I miss a few days now and then when things get too busy. Just pop on when you can :)
SD I'm so glad you got out on the lake one more time!! Awesome!! And the offices sound like they are coming along so well. Sounds like the bear needs an attitude adjustment. Do they make such a thing as bear proof trash cans? Or are they pretty much going to trash anything and everything to get to what they want? I'm so glad that the bears in Maine are much further north of me. It's possible there are some in this region but not as likely (either that or they don't show their faces!)
Well best get to my appt. Have a great day everyone and hi to Bernice, Niko, Ayanka and anyone I missed!

Pinetree--Yes some areas flood while in Bastrop county they are fighting wildfires. Go figure. Only in Texas. DH, my BIL, and I went to the casino last night and I walked out with $213. Paying medical bills fees great!
TRN--I worked out at the local gym before my stroke. I really miss it. I have a sit-down stepper machine that I use at rehab that really helps, but my therapist wants me walking everyday. I miss riding my bike and zumba, but now I would need training wheels and don't even know how I would do zumba. I lost 5 lbs. in the hospital, and since I have been pretty much sitting around, I have put on that and more.
Today I will get my house clean and do laundry. Have the windows open for the first time this fall. I will do half, have lunch with old friends, and then come back and clean the rest. Have to pickup my glasses today and buy DH some new underwear.lol He refuses to throw them away until I do. Dinner tonight will be: schnitzel, steamed cabbage, saffron rice, and lemon bars. That will have to be enough since I will be exhausted when I start. Yesterday my freebies in the mail included 4 magazines and a pkg. of cat treats. Well, guess I better get up and get started if I am going to accomplish everything I plan to do.
10-20-2015, 09:42 AM
Wishing everyone a GREAT day!!!
1) finish the mountain of laundry
2) organize fridge
3) keep house straitened up, I think I need to vacuum everyday to keep on top of pet hair:( at least the main parts of house, which actually won't take long
4) clean out the cuc/green bean garden bed
10-20-2015, 10:09 AM
hey all,hugs and what nots
Rona-congrats on how well you have jumped in!! and yes unfortunately it is a long one at 1:00 today but its an hr. drive to her and 1/2 more to the Dr. I am evil and unappreciative and would rather spend the day here.
She will want to piddle w/ the sewing machine and make a big deal over giving me money for it. $30. like who cares, she's my Dmom.

Hi Everyone, sounds like everyone is busy!
Niko, HI!! Nice to see ya!! I'm still sending up prayers for you! Hugs
Om, Hugs for you too! Hope you are lurking!! Let us know how Paige and Addie are!!
Hikr, great job on the Dr, appt, and losing weight. let me know what you find out if you go to the dietican.
GB Great job on getting those medical bills paid off!!
Rona, Good Luck on PT.
Nomad, hope you have a lighter day today.
FW, any luck on DH finding a job? Saying prayers for you too! Sorry the puppy is having problems, and I dont know why I call him a puppy!?
Hopefully that stuff wont go against your DD promotion!
TDN, you are doing a great job, send me some energy!
RABBIT, sure are missing you!
Jen, you too!!
Ayanka, Hi!! How is it going?
ILC, um missing you! Been 2 days now, hope all are OK.
SD, Thanks you so very much for the lake update, oh, its just so very beautiful and peaceful. Hopefully you will get a 2nd summer and get to ride more. It sounds like a wonderful time, I can even hear the ripples in the water and can see those rocks underneath, they look so big with that water on top of them!!! They aren't too good on ski's either lol.
Get some rest, you have been going for quite awhile now, go back and look at all you have gotten done lately!!
Think I got everyone if not I am so sorry.
I'm having another off day, so my list is going to be minor is anything.
Have a wonderful day!!

Hi everybody, I've been spending time with DS which has been wonderful. I finally took the time today to catch up on what has been happening with everyone. What a busy bunch!
DS is finally better after that really awful sinus infection he had. The doctor is very pleased. There was an emergency with one of her patient this a.m. so our 9:45 appointment was over at 1:30 but I couldn't get upset because I was the emergency one day and took several people's appointment times. DH went for bloodwork this morning then he was having lunch with his sister and their aunt so none of us got back home till around 2:00. Tonight we're going to a free piano concert at one of the local universities. I've spent the afternoon talking with DH and DS so I really have accomplished nothing today but it's been good being with family.
Tomorrow's (Wednesday) list:
1) Reset downstairs
2) Go through piled-up mail, circulars, catalogs, etc.
4) Gather more donation items
5) Make grocery lists from sales circulars in newspaper
6) Church 6:30
Be back tomorrow.

Hello to ALL!
SD Ė Ö.Ēbear tossed around last nightĒ WOW. I gripe over the rabbits eating my flowers. Hope your DH doesnít give you a hard time about the ďto goĒ stuff. Iíve about given up attempting to purge mineís.
FW Ė Hope your momís furnace got fixed. It was a furnace yes? If so, and no ones been out yet it probably just needs gently cleaned. DH always used these little pieces of what looked like brown gauze but was rough and stiff. If he didnít have any handy he used a little wire brush. (Heís a heating and air guy)
Rona Ė You were busy!
Hikr Ė Glad your doctorís appointment went well! I second his opinion about the excersize. You will eventually look forward to it. I can feel the difference in my body and my MOOD when I donít. Afer missing a day or two Iím pretty much rearing at the bit to ďdo somethingĒ thatís physically tireing. Now not everything is wonderfully appealing but I make sure to do the stuff I really enjoy on the days I have a hard time getting started.
GB Ė Another win at the casino, thatís definitely a thumbs up! am so sorry to hear about the stroke. That blows. My Dad had one several years back and there was a pretty long patch that was really rough. If you miss the gym have you thought about going and doing some light weights? Iím not sure where your at with your recovery but I know a few friends and family members that had strokes and all were encouraged to use the muscles/side most affected as much as they could. Yes, you can do really light type weights at home but it would get you back someplace you miss going. Where I go there are several older people who are obviously recovering from something that go in about the same time every day.( I actually think itís a hip or knee replacement group just based on observation of movement) Anyway most of them do really light or no weight lower body stuff and do more active arm/ab moves, except for this one guy who starts out with light leg stuff but then gets on the treadmill with his cane. He goes REALLY slow, and he yells at whatever TV politics is on, but heís generally smiling when he leaves. (I think the politics gets his heart rate up while the walking is doing itís thing on his legs, in my opinion anyway.)
Pinetree- Sorry your still not feeling yourself. Rest up.
ILC- Glad you got to spend time with your family. Some days we just need days like that.
As for me the day was a little shorter at work but not by much. I did manage to hit the gym though but only because I made myself go at the hour before oh dark thirty. Glad I did though. I started my day out feeling I had accomplished something.
Laundry going, fed DS#2 (heated leftovers), dishes done, and later I plan on doing bills and sorting through a desk drawer. Other than that I think Iím done for the day.
Hope everyone enjoys their evening!

TRN-fixed. It was the ignitor actually. It will be cleaned the 4th of Nov. The furnace was actually replaced in the mid 1990's. I would have sworn up and down it wasnt that long ago.
Rough day all around. So pretty to be wasting sitting in the Dr's. office. Dmom took 45 min. to get out of the house after I arrived but we werent late. Dang, that woman can piddle and get so easily distracted. Understanding Ddad more these days.lol
Her pacemaker device is functioning well but it didnt even go off 1 time in 3 months so thats good. She had an echo and blood tests for kidney. Her kidney levels were still bad last time but better than the time before. No negetive changes in her heart. She's going to be 83 soon so thats about all they can do. No magic. They all encouraged this obsessive leaf raking she does. I am still irritated because its sometimes all day. Too much.
No pinetree,no job for DH. The service keeps trying to string him along and he finds it flattering. Paychecks and benefits are flattering to me. Frustrating.
Puppy is what we say I guess its the size. My dogs weigh 65#.94# and 112# so a 24# dog is called-cat around here. Charlie, the big black one we aquired last year weighs 20# or so.??? KWIM?
He is doing fine. to be honest I gave him an extra 1/2 pills seeing I was gone 4 hrs. today.
hahaha! Dh needs a job or I'm going to jail. While I was gone,,, He decided the office tv needs to be in Hunters bedroom??? He strung cable thru the vent from the bsmt and leaned the register against the opening. He used a splitter and attached it to the tv in the other bedroom. (making a mess in there of course). Sets the tv and box on the new oak dresser I just got the deal on. Shifts all the stuff onto Hunters crate including sharp canned food lids that should have been thrown away and a wire hanger he bent to "pull cable". I mean just cables and cords everywhere. I was livid. And I made him take it all back. He is sooo MAD RIGHT NOW. Ths is a creature we are supposed to keep quiet at all costs and he doesnt need a tv. lol He needs more to do. The man not the dog.
10-20-2015, 11:32 PM
FW2--Wish your DH was close to me. I have a lot of things that need to be done around here. I was going to paint two bedrooms before my stroke. Now hopefully I can do it this winter. Had a rough day. The pressure in my head was definitely causing me to walk like a drunk today.
10-21-2015, 03:03 AM
GB-Dh is blind in one eye and has never painted to my knowlege. You just dont want that. And he has plenty to do. We just strongly disagree on what. lol
He finally admitted that the cable "inbox" he installed last week is junk. I said last week that maybe the aftermarket unit is bad. "Maybe but I think its on their end". ???So when you install something and there is then a prob. w/ the signal almost immediately its on their end. Whoosh. Stubborn. If he ever retires my hair is going to fall out!!
Kinda glad to go to the rescue tomorrow. Kinda want to stay w/ "puppy" . Hope the vet thinks his heart and lungs sound good.
10-21-2015, 07:35 AM
Hikr congrats on the doctors visit & well done on the weight loss. You might be interested in a course (free) on nutrition, here's an example of one with coursera, it's not active so put it on a watchlist, they normally turn up at least once a year or check out another one with them.
FW no not unappreciative you just would rather be doing something else, which makes the fact that you went anyway even cooler ;) Yep, have to agree paycheck are waaaay more flattering :D Hope the vet visit today goes well.
Pinetree, hope your off day ended up being a good one ((hug)), PT went alright but she isn't happy with the straightening, I'm technically lame:vs_no_no_no: MRI at the end of the month should tell a lot.
ILC, hope you enjoyed the concert.
RNomad, if you're anything like me then I'm a morning person & getting exercies out of the way early seems to put the day on a good footing.
Hell to GB, TDN, Ayanka, OM & anyone else I have missed:wave:
The physiotherapist yesterday said my bend has only a 5% differential left however my straightening has only improved by 1% & she isn't happy. So she has sent me home with loads of exercises, hourly, quarterly, & daily ones. Then an icing program to bring swelling down, twice a day. I can also start to go for daily walks of up to 10min & garden a small bit (no kneeling etc.) so:vs_box: MRI will tell what kind of damage I'm dealing with.
So far so done:
Books with girls
Laundry 2 loads
Checked in on Da
Still to do:
Community work - have typing and grant applications to work on - I volunteer on local Community Council
Laundry 3 loads:laundry:
Hoover hallway, sitting, kitchen :va:
Homework & additional computer work with girls
Soup, root veg for when they come home
Dinner will be simple, 4 herb pasta
See what else I can fit in, although I've a feeling the PT work will take chucks out of my day. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday :)

Rona-so sorry to hear. When i dislocated my elbow (by literally falling on it by slipping off the track trying to get healthier-yep) it took forever to get the full range of motion back. The motion was a rough clickety clunk for the longest. He said he was satisfied-nope. Do the dumb excecises even if you grumble the whole time (which I certainly would!!lol)
Going to take Dmom is never a question. Enjoying the drift-tears my patience.
Off to the vet w/ little dog and then shower and rescue.
Sorry if I am grumpy lately the stress is weighing. Looking forward to Halloween and its passing actually. (people get a little creepy).
Hugs all have a good day and such!!
