3/3 today. I cleaned off the shelf in the coat closet for #3...after some hats and stuff fell on me while I was hanging up my coat. I always ignore the closets as long as I can. I don't know why. Actually felt good today. I just have to keep remembering that tomorrow will be better.

Pinetree, you're doing well with the veggies for your diet, but you can't completely cut out carbs, they're necessary for your brain health. I'm diabetic, and my doc says that the whole fruit is fine, but not the juice. The fiber helps mitigate the sugar/carbs. As far as salt, I have no help to offer there...I have no restrictions for it. I hope you can find some good tasting alternatives.

    Tomorrow:

    1. One load of laundry.
    2. Call to arrange to get the kitten spayed.
    3. Start pulling together the paperwork for taxes.

    Have a wonderful day, Everyone!

SallyC, have a nice and safe trip.

pinetree, there used to be a product called Mrs. Dash that was found in the spice/seasonings aisle that my daddy used after his heart attack. No salt, just flavors. It helped. He also was allowed to use salt substitute. And if you buy canned veggies that are loaded with salt, you can drain them then rinse with cold water to remove a lot of the salt. Can you ask the dieticians/doctors if they have printed lists of products you can get?

Would frozen veggies be salt-free? I just looked at a bag of broccoli and it was only 20 mg a serving. Be sure to use unsalted butter rather than margarine. Just some things off the top of my head.

Didn't get much done yesterday. I forced myself to go with DH and his sister to a free concert and then lunch when I really wanted to stay home, but it turned out really pleasant. But I was tired when I got home. Sure hope the doctor can pinpoint the problem.

    For Friday:

    1) Vacuum upstairs
    2) Revise menus
    3) Reset den
    4) Work with DH on finances DONE

    Have a fun Friday, everyone.

pinetree - was thinking last night, how about eggplant parmesan? You could make your own sauce and just put a little mozzarella on for taste.

    3/3 today again!

    Saturday
1 - clean kitchen and laundry room, vacuum carpets and furniture
    2 - color hair
    3 - fix broom

    Didn't vacuum yesterday.

    For Saturday:

    1) Vacuum upstairs
    2) Clean up bathroom where new puppy sleeps
    3) Change sheets on our bed/wash sheets
    4) Clean out vegetable crispers in fridge
    5) Bake apple pie
    6) Send out a birthday card and a sympathy card

I think that's it. Have a good Saturday, ladies.

ILC, if I remember right, you are taking thyroid meds...I am, too. I was always so tired and my doctor said that the pills have to be taken at least a half hour to an hour before any other meds and food. I also found out that my meds needed to be lowered, it sounds counter-intuitive, but that is what helped. Do you take synthetic hormones or natural ones? My body doesn't process the synthetics.

I did get my Friday list done, but got busy and didn't get online before bed.

No list for the weekend, Hubby is making plans.

    Have a great weekend, Everyone!

ilc, Thanks for the mrs dash, I now have all kinds of seaonings, all Mrs dash, tomato basil and garlic, onion and herb, orginal and garlic and something else I cant remember, Also found Mortons, salt substitute, this will be wonderful for homemade soup! Then the kids found Heinz No salt ketchup!! I am in seventh heaven!!

No, they did Not Tel us any products, They just said to read labels. So we are kinda on our own. They did tell us to rinse off canned veggies, and beans. I am hoping that this diet is just for awhile, until they get everything settled and figured out. I'm hoping Tues he will tell me he's lifting some of the restrictions.

    RABBIT, Thanks for the idea!!

Just a comment. DH takes Synthroid and the generic doesn't do anything for him at all! They are supposed to be the same but I read somewhere that there are slight differences that make the generic not work for some people.
