So get up to an email from the bank saying we're overdrawn on that account. No way. So go to bank when it opens ... the dumbasses Friday let that $800 fraud check go thru. Then they want to overdraft me? With fraud all over it? I got a print out of the front and back check... even the back where she signed it and deposited it in her account. Or someones account. Thing is we never had checks made. Didn't need any. But there it was. My name in the corner only.
I asked corporate if they were taking that off and she said depends what investigators find. I had already cleaned the account out except $1.50 or they would have gotten it. Told her they had told my branch manager and assistant it was locked and nothing was leaving it multiple times. Said wasn't putting money into the account and I wasn't paying $35 either nor additional charges after 5 days. Take me to court and I'd have them called in to testify for me.
    So it continues.
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Niko, this whole thing is unreal! I really cant believe what you are saying, how stupid are they? isn't your account red flagged? For crying out loud see if you can find an attorney to help you. Do you belong to aarp? I guess they have legal services, might be worth the $18 bucks to join and get some help! You cant even go a day with out crap raining down on you...hang in there, some how theres got to be light somewhere in that stinking tunnel you are in!! Sometimes it just gets to be too much, so some here and yell.. hugs...and more hugs, man do you need them...

Pinetree, thanks for the link. That is a unique recipe to be sure. The fruit part sounds like 5 cup salad, but then eggs & pasta...
Niko- your bank situation totally sucks, which of course you know. Thinking of you.
To those with elderly parents/family, bless you. The longer folks can stay in their own home, the better, especially financially. The facility I used to work in had a nursing home & it is darn expensive to have someone in there, five or six Thousand per month. Each state has their own laws, but here in Ohio, a patient can get Medicaid to help pay once their resources are exhausted. But that means cash in investments & life insurance, sell the family farm, etc. If one of a married couple goes to the nursing home, their retirement income goes with them to help pay the nursing home, so the one left at home has only their own income to live on. I had to explain this to family members & see & hear their dissappointment & terror. It was an awful job & an awful situation. Our facility had to sue a few families to get payment. We had to force them to sell the family farm which they thought was their inheritance. So sad. The story of one sibling doing all the tough day to day things with the other siblings breezing through for short visits is almost a given.
We had a lovely Christmas, but now I think I have shingles! I got an appt for Friday. I hate going to doctors, but guess I better go find out for sure. Hope I didn't contaminate my whole family...

Just wanted to say HI to everyone

NikoSan. I am sorry you are having to deal with this current bad stuff.
Can you go to all cash ?
Can you open a new checking account at a different bank for the SS deposit ?
Can you get SS disability maybe ?
I would get on SS now if I were you. Don't wait.
Call SS and talk to them . They may have some ideas for you.
    ( Big hug )

Won't let me edit my post.
Niko...do you have a attorney general office in your state ? If so, get ahold of them and see if they can
make your current bank help you instead of making things worse.

Niko, I'm so sorry, what a mess. And none of it your fault. Someone mentioned AARP----every now and then they'll run an article in their magazine about how they cut through the red tape and the crap and helped someone with a situation that wasn't being handled properly. I think they have offices in each state. Go on their website and check it out. Couldn't hurt and might help. If you live in/near a big town then see if a local TV station has someone who can do a segment on their newscast about what the bank is doing to you. One of the Atlanta stations does stuff life that pretty often and the situation gets resolved to the customer's benefit because the company doesn't like the negative publicity.

Winkie, here's hoping that you don't have shingles!

Hi, ladytoy! It's been awhile since you posted. I remember the pretty dogs in your picture.

fw, glad you feel better. I've got to clean up DD's room since she's never here. She has so many clothes hanging in the closet and strewn all over that she won't miss the ones I donate or toss or take for myself. I mean piles of clothes on the bed, on the chair, on the floor... and shoes too, at least I can use some of those since we wear the same size. The furniture was purchased by my mom for her own use and I need to dust and polish it and just generally make the space usable. Even if she and the fiance break up, she'd probably move in with a friend, so I think I'm pretty safe in taking the room back.

momoffiveboys, ermadunk, SO, earlybird, Tine, TDN, and anyone I missed, hi.

pinetree, that breakfast casserole sounds tasty. The frog salad sounds strange. LOL
Nope, we haven't seen DD. Her fiance ended up working all day yesterday and we haven't heard from them today. She has texted a few times though, so that's something. We enjoyed our CFA sandwiches, and I splurged and got a Coca-Cola. Afterwards we rode through a couple of ritzy neighborhoods and looked at Christmas lights, even though it's 3 days afterwards, then came home. Yes, we are such thrill-seekers.

All my Christmas stuff is packed up and returned to the storage area except for linens/clothing items which I'll do tonight once they're all washed and dried.

Gbug, sure hope you are having luck, and a great time at the casino!

    Hi Ladytoy!

winkie, I sure hope you don't have shingles! if you don't you should get your booster shot.
I know its so sad about having to be in a home, we had to sell everything my Aunt owned, it was heart breaking, Thank goodness she didn't have kids that wanted an inheritance, cause there wasn't a penny left. I sure wouldn't want to have to tell that to the families.. you had a tough job..but it sounds like you helped out a lot of families.
Try the frog eye, only cut it in half, it makes a lot, but it is so good.

Niko, I'm hoping a lot of things went right today!! Gotta keep saying, "something goods going to happen today" lol, I do that and the bottom falls out.. hugs...

Tine, hope you are still having a good time being out of school..

ILC, oh, a sandwich and a coke, my gosh you two are really celebrating!! and lights after!! Wow, I hope you both had a special day!!

    Hi to everybody I missed..

Its so nice out today, Friday is going to be almost 60! whoohoo!!
they moved the snow to Monday and Tuesday, this one might be a humdinger... the high is suppose to be -10, ouch...the mountains have been having blizzards all week, so its really snowing up there, which is great for next yrs water, but its so dry down here again.
Think we will take down the lights before it gets really bad and we have to leave them up until march again. If the snow bury's them we will never get them up.
Dh got me a heated throw for Christmas, I cant wait to hook me up to a 100 foot extension cord, and walk around with my blanket!! lol, had a big surprise last night, I use a hot water bottle on my back at night, well at 2am, it decided to pop a hole in its side!! ugh, thank goodness I caught it early, but that's the 2nd one that rotted out, this one was only about 20.. I thought they lasted longer than that.. lol

Dh is having trouble with his cpap, has to go down today and get a mask, the new one makes him cough and he cant wear it.. and is costing a fortune to just be sitting there.. sure will be nice not to hear that snoring all night, and it would be nice if he wasn't so tired all the time.

    Today
grocery list for new years eve, going to fondue
grocery list for new year day, smoking Cornish game hens
rewash loads in washer that I never got in the dryer
    send card

    Have a good one.

Grocery ads finally showed up. They are supposed to be delivered on Tuesday, before the ad starts. Not a lot of good deals this week.

    Store 1: blueberries 1.88, bacon 2.99, mushrooms 1.79
    Store 2: bacon 2/5
    Aldi: carrots .49, blackberries .79
Sav a Lot: chicken 1.38, mushrooms .99, salad mix .99, Green Giant 2/3

Need to get lots of fresh veg this week and salads. Dh gained about 20 pounds and is aiming to go low carb again. Will probably buy a lot of chicken breast and prep parmesan chicken cutlets for the freezer.

    So, meal plan...

New Year's: ham, cranberry salad, fondue, veggies
    New Year's Day: sushi, dumplings
    - kibbe, almond rice, veg
    - chicken, veggie fries
    - broccoli cheese soup
    - chicken, veg
    - chuck steak, peas
    - chicken, veg

Tonight we are having wild rice soup. I pulled a cup of corn broth out of the freezer, 2 cups of leeks in veg broth, and a cup of HM mushroom soup/gravy to incorporate into it. Need to get containers out of the freezer to use later this month.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

If you're not using the stuff in your home, get rid of it. You're not going to start using it more by shoving it into a closet.

So the 13yr old cat is in wild heat. She never gets out and the boys are all done. BUT naughty behavior is occuring.Plus she kept me up ALL night w/ the mewling and moaning and calling. So I am in a dilemna. (before anyone says you should have had her fixed-I took her in wild and tamed for mostly, then she was sick and had a septum that was compromised from disease. She has been in estrus 3 weeks. They can go 2 and then if not pregnant do another week. If I fix her there is risk as she is old so I need to get a blood test and it will be harder on her. Plus IDK if a vet stay will terrorize her as she's still skittish w/ people except us. PLus it will cost be more because she has had Estrus recently and TMI its messy to operate. BUT she seems miserable and cats dont do menopause. Opinion or experiences?? Going to go nap as we were suppposed to go out w/ friends at 6.

fw, her age is a problem but we had Sasha fixed, she was wild, we had to trap her, she got loose in the vets office and they had a heck of a time getting her trapped again. so the wild part is no big deal.
they have trucks that go around here, they visit a town, that calls them and trap feral cats, fix them and let them loose again, it keeps the population down, they keep the females overnight and let them go.

You will have to ask your vet about fixing her. Sometimes Sweet Pea acts like shes in heat, screams the whole thing.. sometimes I wonder if she was fixed! lol just when we think shes calm down she goes again... most of my girls were trapped, fixed and then tamed down, if that helps you any.

Pinetree--They told him $16,000 but it would not affect his pension. In other words, he will get his pension plus ss and the pension will not be included in the $16,000.

ILC--When I first started teaching, Texas paid into both SS and retirement. The law changed calling it double dipping, so I can only draw my retirement. At first, I couldn't even get DH's ss if something happened to him, but I think that has changed some. I hadn't been teaching long enough at the time to be grandfathered.

Got the house cleaned and laundry done yesterday and spent the night at the casino. It was fun. Had breakfast this morning with SIL and BIL. Got home and did laundry and finished cleaning laundry room. Made peanut brittle to take to DS's tomorrow. Going to make some more marshmallows later and ham, cream cheese, pickled okra appetizers to take to SIL's NYE.

Gbug, there must be different amounts for how you make money, like his retirement doesn't count, but my benefit package says If I am working I can only make $15,720, in 2016, in 2017 they raised it to $16, 920, before they deduct the $1 payback. Boy you really need to keep up with them, things keep changing.. and I did get a whole 0.3% raise.. wow that wont even buy me gum...
My DH retired from the City and didn't pay in SS, but when I talked to them they told him to apply for it, ( SS) that he had paid in and can still draw it, it wont be much, but said its free money he might as well take it. Tho he cannot draw any of the city retirement until he is 65. You might check on yours.

Interesting retirement plan discussion. My DH took his SS at 62, 4 years ago, plus still works part time. He did very well at watching his hours & not going over. Then last year he got a sizable bonus which put him over & now he has a reduced amount for 2017. Starting this year he has no limit. I was a public employee (county hospital), so I was eligible to retire @ age 60. I took a partial lump sum which I rolled over into my IRA. So I get a reduced benefit monthly with a chunk sitting in an investment. Then I got a part time job & have no limit to what I earn. I am contributing most of my pay into a tax deferred annuity. I worked 20 years under SS. In 6 years I can apply for SS (if it is still solvent). My SS will be paid based on a formula that compares my pension to what I would have gotten from SS. It may not be much, but might buy groceries. Then when I really retire I can draw out of my tax deferred savings.
We think we have a good plan, but it only takes one big illness, or one spouse ending up in a nursing home to sink the ship.

Is there A how to retire class or something? this seems like you could really get messed up.
Decided not to go out. Its so windy and I'm super tired. IDKY they always have to travel so far just to get together. I think i'm doing movie night and hang out. We got pizza earlier w/ free bread as they were so super slow again. IK it will still be good tomorrow.

DD was supposed to call back but of course she didnt. That girl will never grow up.
need to go see how Dh did w/ the furnace. We was going to unhook the heat pump that doesnt work. I told him to make sure it wasnt live somehow. I dont want either of us to end the year w/ a bang or fire.
    Better go do some dishes.
